Today with our kids (7 and 8) to Rocher des Aigles. Very nice and worthwile to visit. The birds are impressive. I have never seen this before and I loved it. Also the different kind of owls were impressive. The entrance fee is not expensive. Nice area to be. Great!!
This show is well worth a visit for all ages. Enjoyed the display especially seeing them flying so high and right over the valley. Then being able to see the birds of prey so close was impressive. Parrots etc were also lovely to see.
Very cool demonstrations, and great handlers, who you can tell really cares about the birds. The surroundings are perfect and you get at lot for your money!
We last visited this raptor centre more than ten years ago and had looked forward to going back..but was rather disappointed. The centre looks tired, and the staff are not interested in the visitors. The ticket price is in English but nothing else was. The hour long commentary is all in french, and there was no offer of any written explanation....so not much chance to learn about the birds for the english visitors.. The main birds in use were half a dozen vultures, and three bald eagles, with a falcon flying to the lure for five mins, and an introductory release of three or four buzzards. The show finished with a release of half a dozen parrots including scarlet macaws which looked beautiful. The show could have been good but management need to think more about the visitor.
We enjoyed are visit here and the display of birds they have is impressive. There are shows at different times of the day so be sure to look this up before you go. The show itself was reasonably good but was a bit repetitive at times. When you arrive everyone tends to try and get the best seat, but when we went everyone was asked to move to the fence on the opposite side of the arena. This could be a problem for people with mobility issues, but for us it was OK.
Overall we enjoyed are visit and would recommend a visit here when visiting this particular area.
This is by far the best place I've visited to see birds of prey (and surprise also tropical birds) fly free during the demo. To see the vultures high up in the sky while they are flying other birds is just breath taking (I'm talking about at least 25 vultures at the same time) - good talks by passionate people , maybe some more informative signs would have been good. When it's hot there is some shade to stand in but it can be warm. All visitors can get good views.
