Perfect location for visit to Lourdes Grotto.
Friendly staff. Safe secure parking for bike in sister hotel. Breakfast rather 'communal' but perfect for pilgrimage groups. Room large a n d perfectly clean.
What's not to like?!

Often Lourdes can be a little unfriendly for those with a little person in tow. But this hotel was very accommodating, high chair, baby bath, cot and extended checking out time was all provided! Also the staff were all lovely. Only thing that let it down was the food. All edible but a salad or some vegetables would be a great improvement.
However we had a lovely week. Thanks hotel Stella.

Very impressed with how central this hotel is to the main square, very accessible by lift in the same street.
It was very clean, the staff were very helpful and hospitable, but most importantly wheelchair friendly!!

Over the years I have stayed in several hotels in Lourdes. On the whole they are much of a muchness, catering for large groups of pilgrims who are travelling with tour operators. As such, individual customer service can sometimes be a bit so-so.
The Hotel Stella was very much an exception to this rule. We travelled as a large group, but I did not hear a word of criticism from anyone. Members of our group were effusive and warm in their praise of the hotel. The staff were welcoming and efficient, the rooms were beautifully decorated and well-maintained, the public areas were stylish and comfortable, and best of all, the food was excellent. After having warned my group not to expect much in a Lourdes hotel, we had the most amazing surprises. Even the breakfast was good - which is not to be taken for granted in Lourdes. Waiting staff were attentive to individual guests and had endless patience even with the fussiest of children and adults, happily offering alternatives where a child did not seem to like a dish (and further alternatives when they did not like the alternative!).
In addition, there was a lovely outdoor area (again rare for Lourdes), free wifi, the main shrine area ('Domain') was nearby - and there was a bar!
After staying here for three nights, we sadly had to leave - and when we arrived at our next hotel, in Paris, we know we had been spoilt in Lourdes. Thank you to the wonderful staff here for such fantastic hospitality.

Stella Matutina (now just Stella) is very well situated — just 5 minutes from the Domain. (Down a few dangerous steps or, rather, along a winding road ... or a lift is available in front of the Hotel Florida.) The hotel has recently enjoyed a make-over and is now a brilliant 3 star (but it really feels like a 4 star.) With clean and business-like reception area, flashy bar and spacious bedrooms with modern furnishings. Our room on the 3rd floor was accessible by elevator and was secured with a key card. There was a bit of external noise (through closed windows) but very little noise from inside the building. The room had a private bathroom (no tub, but an efficient shower) and an independent toilet. The TV was small, but it worked. The air conditioning was effective. There is no tea / coffee. The best thing about the Stella (other than its superior location) was the staff. All friendly, all competent. Food in the basement restaurant was praiseworthy — we were in a large group and we went ‘full board’. We had huge portions and the presentation and the choice was good. Breakfast was lovely, a buffet with plenty to choose from: bread, croissants, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, fruit, tea / coffee, fruit juices and much more. We would definitely stay here again. If there is one criticism it is that the service in the bar area was unnecessarily slow (as if the bar-staff were unfamiliar with the set-up) — this could be because we travelled out of season and the permanent bar-staff were not available.

Room Tip: Rooms have some external noise from roads. Corner rooms have extra windows
