This could be a much better place with a bit of TLC. Once inside the hotel, one has to go down 9 steps to reach the reception - where is the ramp? I certainly didn't see it and there was nobody to help. Inside the room - it is very dark, even with all the lights on. Does that have to be so? In the bathroom - shower fixture doesn't work properly, it is impossible to wash hair because one has to hold the shower hand all the time. Also, bed rather uncomfortable, with some kind of foam-like mattress and pillow. But - the breakfast was absolutely wonderful!!! and made up for all the shortcomings described above.

A little tricky to access when coming by car especially if the main square is closed. Close examination of its exact location is essential. The hotel does have its own car park and while not secure it seems safe. Hotel itself is a converted barracks and is roomy, clean and actually very nice. While we were only overnighting its well worth finding the time to have a wander as within walking distance there are many interesting sights and even a large art gallery nearby. Manager was particularly helpful.

Stayed here on two occasions driving to/from Switzerland. So much better than the stop-over hotel we expected and we liked the hotel art.
The rooms were magnificent, well appointed and large with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Good location near the town centre and easy walk to the Moselle and the Cathedral, which with Chagall stained glass is well worth taking time to visit. The mysterious Temple Nerf de Metz is also worth a look.
We only ate in the Brasserie but the food was first rate and relatively inexpensive - quite restored our faith in french regional cuisine.
Our only gripes were the very poor selection English language channels on the TV and the stairways which were partially blocked with spare furniture, hard to navigate in an emergency.

We enjoyed staying here immensely. It's just a short walk to the centre of the City of Metz. (We had never been to Metz before and found it to be a great city!). There is plenty of parking and the room was comfortable and mostly quiet. (There were some building works in progress when we stayed). If I was being a bit picky the bar area was a bit sterile, but hey there are plenty of others within a stone's throw.
