Touring the south of France on our HD motorbikes we passed by Chateau L'Hospitalet, the home of Gerard Betrand wines. We started with an interesting tour of the chateau, professionally guided by Thibaut de Braquilanges (Global Travel Retail Director), including a walk through the vineyard itself and the cave with its huge stock of aging wines,....very impressive. After that we enjoyed a light lunch on the terrace at restaurant L'Art de Vivre of Chef de Cuisine Laurant Chabert, who prides himself to champion a kind of farm to fork cuisine sourcing as much as possible seasonal produce from the surrounding region. We started with a refreshing amuse buche, followed by, as entree, Green Asparagus from Narbonne/Collioure Ansjovy/low temperature cooked quail egg/sorbet and as main course Steamed Seabass filet/green peas/kitchen garden vervena/lemon grass; all exquisite in taste and great presentation. Further enhancing the food was a beautiful Gerard Betrand Volcanic Rose, Chateau La Sauvageonne, 2016. Impressed by the overall lunch experience (service was very attentive and friendly!), we decided to return the same evening for the "Jazz on Friday", with as jazz band "Boni & Co" and a set menu with accompanying wines. The menu consisted of "Oeuf Bio Mollet en Croute d'herbes" (amazing presentation!!!), "Declinaison de Chevre de Combebelle" and "Tartelette Contemporaine Carotte Orange (very much interesting mix of carrot and orange!) with as accompanying wines "Chateau l'Hospitalet Art de Vivre AOP Coteaux du Languedoc 2016, Domaine de Villemajou AOP Corbieres Boutenac 2015 and Muscat de Rivesaltes AOP Muscat de Rivesaltes 2015. As for the lunch, also this Jazz dinner was superb, with the same perfect combination of great food and wine and friendly attentive service, further enhanced by the live jazz music with the band playing an interesting mix of jazz, soul and some 80's music that got many of the diners on the dance floor. Without any doubt one of the must do stops whilst in the south of France and for those after an extraordinary experience of gastronomy and on Fridays also some entertainment.

The 30th anniversary menu of owners wine company was amazing for 260 guests. Languedoc-Roussillon Wines of Gerard Bertrand provide wide choice for different dishes and occassions on every quality level from commercial to super-premium.

Wow... went here as for the last meal of our holiday, we had heard the tasting menu was good..we say it was fabulous!!
The portion sizes are rather large and due to us managing to arrange a taxi in our poor French, unlike English taxis she arrived early which meant we had to for go before the cheese course... our waiter was not impressed, and have only one of the 2 desserts.
The Wine card is a great idea, allowing you to taste varied wines and go back as many time as you like... which was many!

Overall, book your taxi for at least 4 hours after drop off or stay the night in on the beautiful rooms in the middle of this exquisite vineyard. we will go back at some point, its not cheap by boy its value for money.

Really lovely modern restaurant on a wine producing estate. All very very good but starter stood out. Maki roll of very thin tortilla wrapping finally shredded carrot, beetroot, celeriac, mildly picked, edible flowers and carrot and ginger sorbet. Superb

This was part of a special deal which included dinner (food and wine to match), room, breakfast and a free bottle from the cave. You try the "every Friday is jazz" deal. We did, and was thouroughly satisfied.
