We spent 4 days and 5 nights at this pleasant little hotel in Nimes, where the accent was clearly on personability, thanks in particular to the kindly proprietor, Andrew Hurley, who made us feel right at home each day. He always had a kind word, good advice, and a willingness to replenish food and drink at breakfast upon request. We can hardly express our profound gratitude to him for his care and kindness. The location was excellent both with respect to all major sites plus the railway station. The room was spacious and even came with a balcony which would undoubtedly have been welcome in warmer weather. The room could have been a bit warmer and wi-fi access was erratic, but Andrew admitted that their system was out of date and about to be replaced. The proverbial bottom line is that the hotel represented real value for money, and we would return there upon our next visit to the south of France. Many thanks, Andrew and team!

I had stayed in other hotels in Nimes in the past but thought I’d try this one for a change. It didn’t start well: the ground floor lift button is broken. The real problem for me, though, was the WiFi: it took 10 minutes to connect to the server when I arrived and in the evening which was frustrating but in the morning it didn’t work at all. The manager apologised, explaining that this was not uncommon. I needed WiFi to be able to work so I had to check out and find another hotel. The manager told me that they plan a major refurbishment, with upgraded WiFi, new bathrooms etc (the paint was peeling off the wall in mine). I hope they get this sorted because if not they will haemorrhage clients like me.

Within walking distance of the Roman ruins with parking in an area difficult to find any. Clean with comfortable beds and a lovely balcony and excellent breakfast. The owner is the best part -friendly, a wealth of information and recommendations based on your interests and time. Can't recommend it highly enough, at least for our needs. We certainly hadn't expected to be as pleased with something in the heart of the city.

We booked this room through Booking.com and we were delighted. The owners are English and very, very helpful. There is parking available via I lock up garage which is 30 metres down the road at a cost of €12 per night, which is added to the room price but at least you know your car is safe.

From the hotel you are quite literally 3 mins from the town - bars, restaurants etc. You feel very safe walking around at night returning home.

The rooms are lovely and clean, with good wifi and tea/coffee making facilities. We had breakfast the next day and was well worth the €9 per person.

The one thing that would put the cherry, on top of the icing, on top of the cake - is if the bathroom in our room was upgraded. The shower was very slow and not very powerful, you had to stand in a narrow bath. But overall it was a most pleasant experiment and Nimes is an absolute delight xx

One lovely little touch we experienced was when the owner left us a little bag of goodies when all we asked for was a few extra teabags & milk for our room.

Friendly English staff, spacious double rooms with bijou balconies, would definitely recommend the 9euro breakfast with yoghurt, fruit, cheese, meat and pastries. Simple, straightforward, but carefully thought through; maps to hand, wificode & key code to get in after 9pm. Nice recommendation for dinner also. Perfectly located to wander straight in to the centre and see all the sights.
