We stayed two nights to visit good friends of us. Right in the centre of Nimes but the matress are horrible, outdated and terrible worn put. We also had a hard time to find sleep because it was very noisy from the downtown Locations. The breakfast and the Service was ok.

My wife and I have just returned home after spending 4 wonderful nights at De L’Amphitheatre. The location cannot be beaten, about 30 metres from the actual Amphitheatre. The entrance to the hotel is down a narrow street but our second floor room had a balcony which overlooked a pretty square full of bars and cafes. Our bedroom was large , furnished in the French style,it had a large tv and kettle etc. The room also had a very efficient (and quiet) a/c unit. The bathroom included an excellent walk in shower. The hotel offers free WiFi but reception was very poor in our room. Marcus and Ghislaine were very welcoming and more than happy to answer questions on local attractions etc. They offer breakfast for an additional €10 each which we had on 2 mornings, the usual stuff, cereals, breads , meats etc.

Our room was on the second floor and was quite spacious. Our king-size bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very old but the bathroom was modern and lovely (I especially loved the counter top). Only challenge was for my husband to take a shower with the European-style shower which is a bathtub and a hand-held shower head and no enclosure. Not a huge problem, just messy. A good value overall.

Just one night stay in this Hotel, excellent service, our bags were brought up to our room without asking and we were able to leave our bag in the hotel after we checked out. The bed was really comfortable - the room was simple but everything you need.

Marcus runs a friendly, relaxed hotel not far from the Ampitheatre and on the street into town. Serves breakfast, decent wifi and tourist books to borrow. Nîmes itself is a great base to visit Pont du Gard (45 mins by bus), Arles (40 mins by train), Le Gras du Roi (50 mins by train) and Sète (1 hr) all in all, a little piece of Kernow in Nîmes.
