“Adequate house and accommodations in exquisite town setting”

Eight of us spent two weeks in this home in exquisite Collioure. This is the most charming town I have visited in France in my five or six vacations in country. The home is nice and the galley kitchen is sufficient but not large. The low ceiling going out to the back patio caused bumps on several taller guests even with the caution issued by the owner. The washing machine door broke during our stay and took four days to get repaired despite our English speaking contact and we were required to share the expense of the repair. The refrigerator was good and cooking appliances were small but adequate. Two bathrooms were barely enough but we knew that going in. Collioure is worth a return visit, but I will pay more and live in nicer surrounding next time. The garages were a bonus but not overly convenient. The free local parking was more user friendly when you could find a spot. The markets are not to be missed and the town is superb. Don't miss the tourist train to get a better overview of the town and region. Port Vendres is worth the trip and very close and the fish market there is a must.

Liked best: The town and the house's proximity to the town center
Liked least: The accommodations seemed cramped but adequate. Broken washer door expense. If machine breaks, I feel it is owners responsibility to cover the expense not the renters.

“A lovely place to stay”
Reviewed 25 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

This is a really good quality apartment - clean, quiet, nice beds, lots of equipment. It is an easy 2 minute walk to the beach, shop and restaurants. Collioure is a magical place and 20 Rue de Soleil has everything that we needed for an enjoyable and memorable holiday.

“Superb location, comfortable beds, totally relaxing!”

The cottage is only moments from the beach and useful shops, up a pretty street. There is plenty of room for a family -we were four adults and two children -and still one bedroom to spare! Living space is fine, kitchen area small -but with this location who wants to be in cooking! Barbecue in the patio area -which is smallish but quite adequate -after all - all of wonderful Collioure is on your doorstep. The beds are super comfortable and all bedrooms have plenty of storage. Collioure is quite wonderful -instant relaxation. There is also a large garage. But once in Collioure there is very little incentive to travel elsewhere. Plenty of small interesting shops, cafes a market and endless ice-cream. It has two castles, a windmill, museum, interesting church, outdoor music and a great little land-train. The children loved the beach (aged 6& 7) Enough digging areas and wonderful sandy, flat, safe area for swimming and paddling.
Cottage and Collioure...........just go!
