We had a great time here, and will definitely be back soon. The canal is lovely and the whole experience was very relaxing.

“A delightful stay in an idyllic part of France”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Enjoyed our 5 night stay in David & Heather's cottage by the Canal du Midi. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and well equipped. It had a lovely peaceful terrace leading from the lounge on the first floor where you can sit and relax or, if you prefer, you can sit by the canal side watching the boats go by. David and Heather proved to be most helpful with advice and tips on the area. One of our favourite recommended "day trips" was to Lagrasse and Ribaute. Another "high-spot" was the excellent evening meal by the canal side on the day of our arrival, which was cooked and served by Heather and David, and accompanied by a fine Rose wine. This made a very relaxing start to our stay. All in all a great time and hopefully we will return one day.

“Perfect Stay”
Reviewed 6 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed for 5 nights in Heather and David's cottage by the Canal. They could not have been more welcoming and friendly and the house was spotless with all we needed for a restful and enjoyable stay in the area. Great location for exploring the countryside and villages around Carcassonne and beyond. Would recommend it to anybody.

“The cottage is located in a peaceful rustic setting beside the Canal du Midi, surrounded by working farms and vineyards.”
Reviewed 1 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The Cottage has every convenience and comfort for a relaxing and enjoyable stay with a bed room, lounge and private garden/BBQ area on the upper level and kitchen/dining and bathroom down stairs.
Located close to the town of Trebes and an easy drive to Carcassonne, the area is surrounded by natural beauty and historic physical treasures.
Your hosts, David and Heather are a delight and will offer any amount of practical advice on features of the region. In addition you can sign up to professional cooking classes run by Heather that will satisfy the most discerning participants.
A wonderful location to relax, unwind and enjoy the wines and food produce of this beautiful part of France.

“Great cottage, wonderful setting- can be a little noisy”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed at this lovely cottage in June 2015. The gite has been beautifully restored, the kitchen is superb and the private courtyard a delight. The setting is really special, and having dinner down at the canal side is a treat not to be missed. The only downside is that it can be noisy, especially early in the morning when the farmer starts work. This didn't especially worry us as we like to be up early to get the most from each day, but if you like a lie in then maybe this is not for you. There are lovely walks close by and you are within very easy walking distance of Trebes which has everything you need. Our favourite pastime was sitting at the canal watching the passing boats and exchanging a friendly wave with the passengers. David and Heather are great hosts, very approachable and with a fantastic knowledge of the area. A day at their cookery school is a special way to spend a day.
