My mum and I ate at Le Cinq in May 2016. One of the best restaurant experiences we've had and more than lived up to our expectations. The George V is a truly luxurious venue and the food matched the feel of the place. Very French - rich yet restrained and beautifully presented with modern touches. The pigeon main course was the highlight of the lunch for me.

The service was impeccable and although we got the cheapest lunch menu (which was amazing value for three michelin stars) we were treated just as well as all the other patrons and got fabulous personalised service from the waiters and sommelier.

"Wow" is what you say to yourself with each bite. This is much more than dining; it is entertainment. And it is amazing. We ordered two courses but with all the extra amuse bouche courses that are served, we were quite full on departing. It does not matter what you order since you will undoubtedly be pleasantly surprised by the chef's spectacular transformation of the dish. We had the Dublin Bay prawns and the Lamb, and both were sublime. The setting is perfect. You barely realize there are other diners present. The service is friendly and efficient, not the stereotype of a three-star restaurant, zero intimidation factor. Just very helpful all around. The greeting at the door was warm, and the flowers are dazzling as you walk in. Just a wonderful setting.
The wine list is extensive. I found the 2008 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses from Vincent Dauvissat a bit disappointing. I have read that one should drink such Chablis at either 3 years or 13 years of age. So at 8 it was not the best choice. But the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape from Chateau Rayas was sumptuous, bringing smiles around the table.
All in all, dining at Le Cinq is just wonderful. Wow!

We have been very fortunate to travel the world and to dine at some of the highest rated restaurants that show up on these various ratings lists. We had lunch at Le Cinq and after a vigorous and lengthy debate that went on for several days we believe this is the best restaurant we've been to. The food is simply amazing and with some unique preparations. The deconstructed french onion soup sounds a bit odd in name but was absolutely incredible. The service was unexpectedly warm yet sophisticated and efficient. And the dining room is beautiful. Its expensive but we highly recommend it.

Among several Michelin starred restaurants in Paris, imo, Le cinq is the best by far.
Nice ambiance, incredible and comprehensive wine list from historical cave, flawless and very thoughtful service and the most important, unbelievable and deadly creative and savory dishes from a genius, chef Christian Le Squer.
From now on, whenever I visit Paris, Le Cinq restaurant will be my mandatory stop.
