I booked this place for one night before reading any of the reviews on here and was terrified about what I had let myself in for. After staying there I think that a lot of people have too high expectations of what they are going to get. I found the hotel to be lovely. It's not an Ibis or a Marriott, it's a proper Parisian hotel, with all of the charms and downsides.
Yes, the elevator is comically small. I'm a slim man and you could fit two of me in there. The corridors are also thin. You could easily get luggage through them, though.
The room is basic, but clean. If you are in Paris, I don't see why you would want to spend much time in your hotel room. It was a comfy bed, so that is the most important thing.
The location is amazing. It's 10 minutes walking to the Pompidou centre, 15 to Notre Dame, and then you are on the banks of the Seine. It's a perfect location.
Some comments previously have talked about the rude staff, but they seemed fine to me. They weren't unpleasant or friendly; they were just Parisians. If you find these people to be rude, you probably won't enjoy visiting Paris.More
