Coming to Paris through Paris Gare de Lyon to the hotel is pretty easy. Just take the Metro and drop at Bonne Nouvel and a 10 minutes walk and there you see this hotel. This is conveniently located in the center where you don't have to worry about night life, food and grocery, it's literally in the center of a commercial area.

As usual, we are on a very very tight budget for our European Adventure and among the selection, this hotel stood up against the others in terms of proximity and price. There are a lot of cheap hotels on the list but this hotel wins the race for the good reviews they get and simply accessibility. Hotel des Boulevards is basically in the middle of all tourist attraction in Paris, the reason why we chose this hotel. If you draw a line between the Tour de Eiffel and the Louvre Museum, the hotel will fall almost right in the middle..and scattered almost around it are the other tourist attraction of good ol' Paris.

The hotel room is pretty straight forward, there's a bed and that's it. It got all what we need, a place to stay and a bed. What made it unique is that in the bedroom, there is a sink and a bidet. Normally a hotel room will have it's own bathroom, but this does not and there is a common toilet and bath mid-flight of every floors, but there's no need to go down the stairs for a midnight pee or something, the bidet is just across the bed, just make sure you keep the water running when you do.

Aside from being straight-forward, you can notice easily that the rooms are well kept clean, however the management could have invested more on the bed since the beds are so soft and you are like lying on a hammock when you sleep. So at this regard I am giving this hotel 6/10 for sleep quality, also since the walls are made of dry wall, you can easily hear the neighbors in the evening and you can hear footsteps from the corridor so 5/10 for acoustics. Since this hotel does not have air conditioning units, it will be best to open the window for a natural cool...well last September, Paris is around 8 - 10 degrees in the evening and we preferred to have the window closed and the heaters on and for privacy's sake since the opposite is a school. Since the opposite building is a school, expect that usual school noise early in the morning from playing children, ringing bell, school bus and motorcycles.

A pretty straight-forward hotel comes with a pretty straight-forward breakfast, this hotel does not have a dining hall, it's either you eat in the lobby or bring it to your room...on a good note the coffee is great! WIFI is strong and heating is good. This hotel room is perfect if you are staying in Paris for a short period of time and will need a decent room to spend the night away. And despite short-comings I can say that this hotel is highly recommended for budget stays.

Room Tip: Higher floors will be a lot quieter.

The only thing that bothers me is the slow & unstable internet wifi connection. Overall the hotel is near to metro station, supermarkets, cafes and also halal restaurant. There is no proper place for breakfast. Either you can have your breakfast at a table & sofa in front of the check in counter or you can bring it to your room. Staff at the counter was quite friendly.

This is a great little hotel if you are on a tight budget in Paris (where most hotels seem to cost an arm and a leg). The room was spacious and is made up every day, and the bed was quite comfy. The breakfast is basic; a baguette with jam and tea/coffee but its a good way to start the day.

We had a problem with a leaky tap but the front desk sorted it out quickly, and the only other problem was the heat. When we stayed it was quite hot and I struggled with no fan/air conditioning, but my partner did not have this problem so it might be me.

Pleasantly suprised by the hotel! Great location - particularly convenient if you arrive at the Gare du Nord station for Eurostar trains. There are plenty of eating options around, a supermarket right next door, and a wonderful bakery/cafe opposite that sells delicious croissants and chocolate pastries! It is also only a couple of minutes of walk away from a metro station, which is useful for visiting all the popular sights. We booked two double rooms - they were both clean, modern and comfortable enough. Given that we were not visiting Paris to hang out in our hotel rooms, this place suited us very well. Recommended!

Paris was our first stop on our Interrailing trip this summer and we stayed at 'Hotel Des Boulevards' for 2 nights at the end of June. Although the room was basic and we had shared bathroom facilities, it was all we needed for our short stay in the city. Having stayed in Paris before, this was most definitely the best value hotel in regards to location, a lovely neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and great metro connections. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to young travelers like myself who are looking for a basic place to rest their head, opting to spent their time exploring the city.
