“Excellent location but oh so expensive!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2012 via mobile

I have stayed at many Westin's throughout the world in Africa, the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
When compared to other high class hotel chains overall the Westin gives less value for money.
The Westin Vendome is no exception. The suite we stayed in had a rack rate of 1,110€!
Yes, I am well aware that hotel accommodation in Paris is ridiculously expensive but this was over the top.
The hotel mainly caters for business people and conferences and there is a constant flurry of people in the lobby.
The restaurant serves very good food in a very pleasant setting.
The location is very good, two corners on one side from the Toulleries metro and three corners from Concorde.
The Toulleries gardens are across the road (Rue de Rivoli) so it's a pleasant, leisurely walk to Musee d'Orangerie and even to the Louvre.

As a couple we extended our stay form a Scenic Tour and this hotel was very over priced ! The room we had certainly had no Eiffel Tower view and was unbelievably hard to see your clothes in the cupboard and trying to read with a very small light hanging over your bed was impossible! The breakfast was average and only Internet access in lobby!! Suggest there are many better Hotels for a lots less within a 500 mtr radius - we checked !!!

Mouthwateringly expensive when I visited. Location is unbeatable across from the Tuileries and with clear views of the Eiffel Tower. I was upgraded to a junior suite. Even so, rooms are quite small - but they are restfully and tastefully decorated; the beds are very comfortable; and the standard of cleanliness is high. The public spaces are not particularly inviting, although the restaurant is better on that front. Don't check out at 07.00 when they seem to change front desk staff...as a line of one it still took nearly 15 minutes to check out as he struggled to log on and also spent 5 minutes gossipping with the crew logging off.

Location of this hotel is great. It's right across from the Jardin des Tuileries and close to the Louvre. There is a metro stop close by so it was easy to get around the city when we didn't feel like walking. The outside and common areas of this hotel is very nice. They have a separate check in for gold/platinum SPG members which would have been nice to know before we waited 10 minutes in line after a redeye flight. The actual check in experience was pleasant, she was very friendly and helpful. Concierge wasn't friendly, a little too much attitude which is interesting as they are supposed to be helpful.

We were upgraded to an Ambassador Suite which was a large living room area and separate bedroom. Each area had a full bathroom so we had 2 bathrooms. The room was not at par with Westins in the US - if you got too close to anything, you could see that it needed renovations. The floors were creaky, paint was peeling from the walls at various locations, and the walls were super thin. The shower in the bedroom was larger with a tub/shower but the pressure of the water was so hard and splashed everywhere so we both used the smaller shower which was VERY tight. My husband could barely turn around in there and there was a creepy large vent above the showerhead in which you could see the pipes, etc. The beds (2 twins that my husband had to push together) were very comfortable and the extra space we had was nice but for the rates that they charge, I would have expected a little nicer rooms. The buffet breakfast was good, nice selection of hot items/fruit/breads. There is a bakery called Angelina with excellent croissants just east of the hotel on Rivoli. Would consider staying here again but will do more research next time.
