If you want to waste time and money - Batobus is the right way to do it. We were told to switch boats at the first stop. A promise of 5 min. wait turned into a half an hour wait under the rain. At the second stop we were asked to get off and go back by foot to the first stop to continue or wait an hour... Worst experience and service. Many people demanded their money back but were given a piece of paper with contact details to their customer service... Stay away from this company!

Conceptually the hop on and hop off boat seems nice and scenic. However realistically not your best option if pressed for time — or plan for speed siteseeing. Unlike the hop on and hop off bus, the boat does not run as frequently— depending on time of year or conditions of water your waits for boats could be an hour in between ...so you don’t want to miss a boat or your wait could be as much as two hours. Also the hours for boats don’t run as late as buses so again you got to get a lot more covered with less time. There also aren’t as many stops on the boat. The boat is good if you just want to cruise the river but then again there are boats that already do that. Also depending on conditions of water certain stops will be closed - a real bummer as it happened to me. I would not recommend unless you’re not trying to conquer much during your site seeing and just want to ride the river.
