We had seen Poilane on a travel show, so we decided to try their cafe before heading next door to the bakery. It's super cute, good food and friendly service. The prices were also quite reasonable all things considered. Funny enough, all I wanted that morning was toast, butter and jam and lo and behold! That was a menu item!

The sourdough toast was nice and hearty. The butter was yellow as a buttercup flower and the two jams seemed housemade. The coffee came with a French sable butter cookie in the shape of a spoon which was tres cute!

This is a great low-key spot to get a snack when you're in the area.

We were in 4 and had a great brunch at Comptoir Poilâne! It was quite a surprise because we were starving and didn't know where to go in that area at almost 3pm! Specially if you are vegan and looking for a place to have anything rather than cow's milk!!!! This is your place. For 24 euro we had an orange juice, and a hot drink (as many as you want! from hot chocolate with 70% cacao, cappuccino, coffee or tea that comes with a super cute biscuit spoon), plus a DELICOUS veggie soup, (it was very tasty), plus a muesli with almond milk and PLUS all you can eat in a buffet with many different kinds of delicious breads, spreads (mashed avocado, a delicious beetroot spread as well), and some jam. Honestly, it was such a good valeu for money, and I don't even think we had dinner that day of how much we eat!!! It was such a pleasant surprise. They have also non vegan options, like salmon and egg I think. Service was great as well, we had a good experience.

This(photo) costs €10. A joke?!?!
Orange juice .... trop banal! Too small.
Coffee is not good at all.... better to order some tea. And the worst part is the service.
Old man doesn’t know what service means, I guess. Désagréable! He can ruin your stays in France. The woman, she was telling me « wait, im busy. I’m coming ». We were the only customers, but she was preparing food..... YES it’s cas for HER( I saw that she was eating after finally got our order).
If you see a young guy, he will take care of you well with smiles. Otherwise there is nothing you will appreciate in this cafe.

So glad we tried this new Poilane concept that they should branch out all over the city and more. A small but diversified menu with something for everyone. Tartines (open face sandwiches) that start with the amazing Poilane bread slices and then all kind of different ingrediendts combinations. Very good simple green salad with balsamic vinaigrette too. Save room for their homemade pies and order a great coffee to end your delicious lunch
We cannot wait to go back there

After shopping on Rue du Cherche-Midi, this was the perfect spot for a light lunch. For 14 Euros, we had a tartine (ham and cheese) on their wonderful Poilane bread, the soup of the day, and a glass of wine. A salad may be substituted for the soup. It was a perfectly satisfying, light, fresh, and quick lunch.
