We stayed at la villa des ternes for 3 nights in mid July to meet up with American friends who were on a package staying at a nearby hotel.
We found the staff professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly with good spoken English. The hotel was recently renovated in contemporary style with a comfortable bed, good shower and clean room. Complimentary in room tea and coffee was a bonus. Close to transport facilities and within walking distance of some sites. We walked from the Gare du Nord with a suitcase which with hindsight we would not recommend!
We visited the nearby Marmottan Monet museum which was excellent and holds the largest Monet collection in the world. Taxi drivers were totally unaware of this gem so close by. Large pictures very well displayed. We also took the Metro to Pere Lachaise, an amazing, surreal cemetery where famous people are interred, including Piaf, Marx, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison. Half an hour on the Metro - well worth a visit. The hotel recommended a restaurant next door, Le boeuf Maillot which was excellent and we ate there twice with 4 American friends.
The breakfast had an adequate range of food including fruit salad, and served from 7 to 11.
All in all a great trip and an excellent hotel.More
