“they want but don' know how....”
Reviewed 13 May 2012

I was 5 days in this hotel with my wife. We are around 40, and travel a lot.
We rent hotel via booking, first we check comment on tripadvisor etc.....
Room "privilege garden view" is terrible!
Nobody write that garden is not garden!
that is one white coulored hole with clima out- unit. 6 fan make noise and heat, even thay are new....hell
we paid 380€ night, than we paid+130 per night to change for deluxe room chatedrale view....
this room is realy nice, good view, but realy too big.
privilege boulevard/chatedrale view is good enought.
bath room is really funny.
somebody (some architekte) take lot of mone y for project but did realy circus from lomg big bathroom without bide eaven have space, with separate wc? and unussefully sink.
you can not wash your hands, because wather can not reach it.....
place for breakfast is shame....
lot of money owner give but he got some terrible tables elipsoid shape, lot of mirrors around,
waste of space....
food is ok, but you can't get egs made for you, standard for good hotel. staff insist on some pig
food egs from buffet! some really not fresh mes....
breakfast rate is 25€ , by the way....
hotel is clean, position is perfect, staff is ok.
ellevator work comsi-comsa,,,,,
all review wich I read on this site where mostly unussefully.....
i think that we have to be onest and direct and help each other,
not to be servis of tourist aggency and hotels....
spoiled peple on this site just talk about size of rooms.... size is ok for Paris, really.

Room Tip: choose privilege room boulevard view

We were upgraded to this hotel from one further down the road so were a bit sceptical as our original booking had been sorted ages ago so we first thought that we were being stiffe.

Well werent we chuffed, beautiful hotel, perfect location, really lovelly staff, especially the housekeeper. They were having some alterations done but every effort had been made to keep the noise down and the place spotless.
Only one or 2 slight comments. My partner lost his hat in the room and he mentioned it to the managment who some how located it the next day, not sure if it fell in the bin or what but ended happily for him. The other slightly annoying thing was the coffee and tea was not replenished on the 1st night.
This would not stop me going here again though, If I could afford it 2nd time round.

We were booked into another hotel - nearby and within the same family of hotels as the Madison - but when we arrived to check in we were told that we had been moved to the Madison. Of course, it is unnerving to hear this when you have been researching and planning a trip for many months as we had. We were definitely annoyed as we crossed the street in search of this "other" hotel that we felt we had been shuffled off to. All frustrations and concerns were quickly erased when we realized what a stunningly gorgeous and well-appointed hotel the Madison is. Our room was reasonably large and very well organized. The bathroom was very good, and all amenities that we might have hoped for were present. it is so convenient to be steps to a metro station (st Germaine de pres) and also within 4 blocks of many amazing restaurants and bars. The area is upscale and safe to walk around. The shops are mostly high end, but we found some good deals at some of the chain stores. Staff at the Madison were helpful and quick to answer our questions. The room was clean and always kept up to the highest standards. Our only complaints (and they are small ones) were the bed - two singles pushed together is not ideal - and the lack of any kind of view. We were looking at a brick wall, which was considered an inner courtyard. It is Paris though, so space is at a premium and i suppose the upside is that we were not facing onto the busy street and therefore able to get some sleep at night.
I would highly recommend the Madison and feel fortunate that we were "shuffled off" to this diamond of a property after all. Can't wait to go back! Tres bien.

The front desk staff at Le Madison was friendly, helped us find our way around, and spoke English very well. The room was comfortable but small, but not tiny. We had plenty of room to walk around the bed with two suitcases on the floor. Although the bed is listed as a queen, it's the size of an American double. The bathroom was bigger than I thought it would be. I hurt my back just days before and was able to lay completely down in the bathtub for a good hot soak. I'm 5'10" and 197 pounds. Great location for getting around Paris.

Room Tip: Unless you plan on going to 2 or 3 museums a day, don't get the Paris Pass. Some of the smaller...

My partner and I have just spent a most delightful long weekend in Paris. We chose the Madison after some research and what a wonderful choice it turned out to be. The hotel is very comfortably appointed, the staff our superbly attentive and helpful and it is clear that the whole establishment is run to an extremely high standard. Furthermore, the location could not be bettered. It is in the heart of St Germain des Pres, opposite the Eglise. The Metro is virtually outside the hotel and all the famous cafes and brasseries of the area are adjacent. We wiould have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who is seeking a special base from which to explore the delights of Paris.

Room Tip: We believe that all rooms deliver.
