located near RER Station Luxembourg, easy to reach from CDG (RER B, appr EUR 9.-, 35 min), closed to station St. Michel, good connection in all directions(RER, METRO), appr 35 min to versailles, nice view to pantheon, lots of restaurants an bars within 5 min.
only bad thing: weather was very cold (5 to 12 Celsius), no heating but lot of air circulation from outside so also cold in room

Good location being close to Notre Dame Cathedral and the Ille de Paris and located just off the Latin Quarter and its vibrant nightlife. The staffs were extremely helpful and courteous. There was a choice of breakfast but at 10 Euros we preferred to walk about 30 metres down the road towards the city centre and eat at a café for 7 Euros, not much difference except the coffee was far better! Rooms were comfortable and well decorated although rather small for the price deal at circa £200/night for room with view of the Pantheon – however, rack rate circa £270/night, quite expensive for a smallish room without breakfast!
Entrance to the Louvre and D’Orsay was free on the first Sunday of each month, but unless you are there at opening time the queues are just horrendous, better off paying and going when you want to go.
A trip on the Seine is a must and seen best at night in the dark and by booking online before you go through ‘Vedettes de Paris’ you can save 4 Euros per person (12 Euros to 8Euros) - most people seem to take their own drink on board as there is no Bar.
Keep you eyes open for happy hour the hours vary from 17 to 19 hrs and from 19 to 21 hours depending on the bar, but a prices of up to 8Euros for a beer down to 5Euros during happy hour its worth looking around.
Overall a fantastic city worth walking rather than using the Metro/Bus/Train to take in the atmosphere and architecture.
Incidentally 340 steps to stage 1 of the Eifel tower and 341 to the second stage total 671 steps, but fairly easily walked. Lift takes you from the second stage to the top.

Dear Guests,

We always appreciated reviews posted by our guest which let us have the opportunity to increase our quality and answer their comments.
Budget seems important for you and we would like to assure you that our rates correspond perfectly to the Paris hotels prices.
More than that, and as you mentionned it, we propose with our superior rooms an incredible view on the Pantheon which is more than very rare in Paris. Future guests can have a look on the pictures let by our previous clients and realize how magical our location is.
Our size, about 17/19 m2 is not large but my owners invest a lot of money to give the best french ambiance to our guest, an unforgetable empire style with a lot of amenities.
Also, most of the tourist while coming in Paris knows that standart size are more little than any other city.
All the team is joining me to sincerely thank you for your nice comments explaining how courteous and helpful we are.

We hope having another opportunity to receive you in Paris

Best regards
Pierre-Louis

This is a long overdue review, but I simply have to share with people how great this hotel was. We selected it based on TA reviews and it did not disappoint. The location was great, the staff was friendly and the room was fabulous. I would stay here again without question.

I visited Paris with my wife and this hotel was excellent for our purpose. A very nice place to rest our tired bodies after busy days exploring Paris. The staff were very professional and attentive. This was the first visit to Paris for us and we found that the location of the hotel was perfect for getting around the 'must visit' locations. Plenty of good restaurants in the area when we returned to 'base camp' each evening.
Getting to the hotel from CDG airport was really easy as Luxembourg RER is round the corner from Rue Soufflot which is round the corner from the hotel. Our room was smallish but well appointed and very clean with absolutely no street noise. It can be difficult choosing the right hotel in Paris but 'all in all' this was a very good choice.

My wife and I really liked the Hotel des Grands Hommes. It was directly across the street from the Pantheon. The Luxembourg Gardens were close by. It was a 4 block walk to get to the train or the Metro. It is in a busy area with the Sorbonne, shops and restaurants all nearby.

We had booked a classic room. It was on a small, inner courtyard. The room was on the small side, but comfortable. We had a nice sized bathroom with a shower/tub combination. The hotel had free wi fi, which worked well. Our room was on the 6th floor and the lift did not work for a portion of one day. That might have influenced our opinion of this hotel, if it had been the day that we had to leave.

We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. It was an additional charge and there were many restaurants nearby. We choose to get out and experience the City.

All in all, this is a very nice, very comfortable hotel in a great location with a helpfut and pleasant staff. The only reason that we would not stay here again is if we wanted to stay in a different area of Paris.
