“very nice hotel!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2012

We went previous weekend and our stay was wonderful!!!!
Our room was on the second floor, was not so big but it doesn't bother us because we want it for a sleep and some rest. It was very cosyand very clean . The staff were very pleasant, helpful and discreet. The area of the hotel was quiet and noisy, as had not to feel loneliness. Close were a shopping mall, a market, a bakery, a cafe and the metro station were 5-8 min walk. The only disadvantage was that altough i had asked for a twin bed, there was two singles placed next to another, but it was ok.

We booked a 'Classic' room, and would not advise this for any couple as the room we were allocated was so small we could barely move around it. The bed was a small double, which is not to be expected in a 4 star establishment, and even stashing our two small suitcases was a challenge. In short, the room was much better suited for single occupation, and we would not have stayed for a second night had pre-payment not already been made (the hotel could not offer an alternative as it was full). There is only one tiny lift - again just big enough for two and two small suitcases - totally inadequate in the morning as there are seven floors. On the plus side, the room was very clean and, as others have commented, the staff were friendly and helpful. However, this did not compensate for the fact that the heating/aircon system was noisy, the bar closed earlier than advertised, and the basic continental breakfast was overpriced. We also found it odd that we asked for an extra blanket we were given a mattress protector for a single bed! The best thing about this hotel is the very good free wi-fi, and the reality is that there are plenty of hotels in Paris which offer better value than this one. Best Western needs to review its rating system if it hopes to retain credibility.

Room Tip: Avoid the so-called 'classic' rooms unless you are travelling alone.

Hotel is ok, stuff very helpfull. Breakfast very good. Rooms are clean and bathroom is I would say renovated. Problem is that it was terribly cold. The receptions gave us little heather but still it was cold in bathroom Outside was - 5 but thats not an excuse!

I've been several times to this hotel in the last few years and witnessed a steady decline in service quality. I do like the hotel and its architecture, so that's one reason for going back. But they do need to improve if they want to keep their regular customers, as the prices are high, even for Paris standards. Some of the challenges:
- better service quality: the reception staff used to be much more friendly, now you have to wait long for paying, have to fill out yourselves the registration form etc.
- Air conditioning: it works fine in April-May, but in summer it can get 30 degrees C in the room. If A/C quits services it takes them 7 days to get it repaired...
- No working lamp on my office desk at the last visit. I had to ask twice to finally get the reply they didn't have enough light bulbs...
- sometimes they run out of croissants at breakfast, for an expensive breakfast in a 4 star hotel I would expect something else.
- In some of the rooms you hear your neighbors snoring, as you share doors, which should be double isolated.

Room Tip: no rooms with connecting doors to another room.
