We just returned from a 4-night stay at Le Citizen, and we could not have been more pleased with all aspects of the hotel. The reception staff was fantastic; special thanks to Laure, John and Fatou. They went out of their way to provide any service we requested while performing many additional duties required of them. We enjoyed the Parisian feel of the neighborhood and the closeness to excellent restaurants. We appreciated the convenience of having such a delicious variety of breakfast items available each morning. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Paris. The Negendanks - Knoxville, Tennessee

I spent two nights at this hotel last month, and I must say that was an excellent experience in Paris, considering the price-quality relation. The hotel itself is pretty small, and the service is very casual and relaxed. There are only two rooms on per floor (there is no space for more rooms actually), one in the medium size category, and the other is the small one. I stayed at a single room (that can welcome no more than two peoples), that it's small indeed, but all furnitures and features in the room are from a very good quality. The minibar is for free and the rain shower in the bathroom is awesome. The views from the room are very nice. Breakfast is kind of good, and the dedication of John at service was very pleasant. I would say that location is not the main key for this hotel; if you are traveling for the first time to Paris, I rather book an hotel near the main attractions area (Opera neighborhood - Saint Germain - Louvre); if you want to discover a non masive touristy part of the city, this is the right place just beside St. Martin Canal, and near from Belleville park and Pere Lachaise Cemetery (actually with the metro in Paris it's really easy to reach every spotlight in the city, and there is one station just 3 o 4 blocks away the hotel). I probably stay here again.

I'll keep this simple. Free mini bar, free ipad, free calls to anywhere in the world, great breakfast (unusually, for Paris, included in price), perfect location on banks of Canal Saint Martin, informative, (very) friendly, efficient staff - got us a booking for a notoriously difficult to get into Michelin gaff. I can't say enough, well, I suppose I just have. Thoroughly deserves it's place at the top of the pile. if any staff are reading this...did you ever find out what movie was being shot when we were in town?

This generally isn't an area that we would stay in Paris but it really was a hidden gem. Very local and romantic nestled next to the St Martin Canal. Within close proximity to the Metro, it was very easy to get to and around Paris. The hotel service was fantastic. We had a minor hitch in terms of a double booking to our room that could have put a major fault in our stay but the manager did everything to make up for the error and we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend. The room was compact (this is Paris) but had everything we needed. The Ipads were a nice touch and helped in planning the day's activities. Very friendly and willing to provide great advice. Worth the stay just to enjoy a glass of Vino at the end of the day with the locals on the bank of the Canal. Don't be scared to try the local cafes and restaurants in the laneways and on the canal - much better than the tourist traps.
