If you're interested in European military history this is a must see. Even if you're not it's an intriguing window into ancient fighting memorabilia, all this plus Napoleon's tomb. And the usual cafe and gift shop. What more can you ask for!!

The visit to this museum for anyone interested in a French military history. There are some incredible and unique pieces in this collection. Spread out across a massive building the collection is well organised and thematic.
My experience would have been better had I stopped for a minute to get the headset - my fault as I wasn’t listening.
The exhibit on Charles de Gaulle was a bit over the top - I guess you have to be French to appreciate what appears cult-like in presentation.
I would suggest leaving Napoleon’s Tomb until last. For a bloke exiled by the French Government, he was celebrated in style. The grandeur of the dome church and the tomb is extravagant.
I enjoyed it
Another place that requires many days to see everything. There are displays of equipment and weapons from many periods of French history. Also this is the location of the Tomb of Napoleon. Definite recommendation for any trip to Paris.
Like all museums in Paris this is also a place for the enthused. If you are into history of arms and ammunitions I could not think of a better place. Mind you this is no CIA museum. It does not have any artefacts from modern warfare. But it covers everything mostly up to world war 2. The museum spans three floors and if you are really intrigued by the evolution of weapons this place will absorb you for hours. And if you are not that much into weapons then this one may be given a miss but if happen to chance into Invalides you might as well give it a whirl. The Paris museo pass covers entry for the museum. Nepoleons tomb is not one to be missed if you are here. If you are not into the museum you can still spend some time inside the grounds of the Invalides. Its quite a lovely spot.
Even if you are not very interested in military history, this is a fun place to learn. While we were there, they had a Picasso exhibit which was very interesting. There is a cafeteria style restaurant with sandwiches and hot food. Plan on a full afternoon or all day if you can. There is a lot to see and learn. Good shops to buy gifts to take home.
Walk around and see it all. There is plenty to see from France's war past. Near Napoleon's Tomb which by itself wasn't an inspiring visit.
