It rained, so we were looking for free things to do in the area. This was within walking distance of the Victor Hugo Museum so we took our chances. And what a surpirse. At first you think you've walked into the wrong place. There was no one else in there when we arrived. However, we pciked up one of the portable chairs that they so handily provide (great after a long day walking) and made our way around the exhibits.
It basically charts the history of Paris, it's buildings, boundaries, metro system and anything else architectural. The more modern pieces were a little less interesting, but we really enjoyed learning about how Paris began and grew in the past.
Make a special effort if you have an hour to spare.
