We came to Paris with the kids for the first time, and wanted a different adventure than the touristy sight seeing experience. Our kids were 8 and excited to taste Paris in all its flavors - especially Parisian home cooking. Perrine helped give us this fun foodie time as a family. She met us in the morning, she went over some menu choices based on our preferences and what we wanted to learn to cook. She took us to buy some local ingredients and the local outdoor market, and took us to her home for hours of cooking and tasting! On the way to her home, she caught on to how much our kids loved French cheese and bread, and so she took us to her favorite cheese/egg local neighborhood shop, and on her own volition, bought some of her favorite cheeses along with French cheesecake. This cheese and cheesecake was the perfect complement intertwined with our cooking lessons! Our menu was tomato pie, which I have already done once back home in the States, cod with white cream/shallot sauce, pureed carrot egg baked loaf, and apricot pie. Our family loved learning about French cooking with Perrine, and cooking with her with a view of the Eiffel Tower; it was a perfect activity for a non-touristy day! I should also mention for families out there, that she is incredibly patient and kid-friendly, and makes the cooking fun and easy-going with the kids! Our only suggestion is to reach out to Perrine in the days before to see what the menu options will be, so that you have ample time to think through what it is you want to learn and what you want to make. This way, you don't have to make an "on the spot" decision without much time.
