This is an ideal first floor apartment in a great location. Easy to access Paris by foot or short Lovely independent boutiques and lots of character. Quiet courtyard. 2 mins from 2 of best restaurants in le Marais. 15 min walk from chatelet de Halles station with 35min RER B to CDG airport. Good standard of kitchen equipment, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, WiFi . Good shower. Good sized living room and nicely decorated. Some downsides to be aware of Bed small, no toiletries, poor rear view; extra costs if arriving at weekend so read the terms and conditions.
This is the second time in 2 years I've stayed in the Le Marais district. The narrow, winding, medieval streets and buildings of this area are unique -- full of high-end retail shops, small cafes and everything else you might need. Walk to the metro stations, the Seine, Notre Dame, City Hall etc. You can take the RER B train from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Chatelet metro station, transfer onto the subway to Hotel de Ville metro station, and its a five minute walk to the apartment.
This unit is well located and has what you'll need. The kitchen and bathroom, though small, are modern and stylish. The living room is large and well proportioned with a high ceiling. Because the windows face the courtyard, its quiet with no street noise. However, that also means that there isn't much direct sunlight or view, so don't be expecting that.
Note that although the apartment has a (front loading) washing machine, it doesn't have a condensation dryer feature nor does it have a separate clothes dryer. Instead the apartment has a folding drying rack for air drying clothes, so don't plan on doing your laundry quickly.
The apartment was quiet and clean.
I was a bit surprised that the property management company doesn't supply any complementary soap, shampoo, dish soap, dishwasher or washing machine detergent, garbage bags and a limited amount of toilet paper. They do offer to supply these items (except for the toilet paper) for €38 ($CAN 60!), which seemed both expensive and rather annoying to me, given I'd spent CAN$1,800 for 8 nights accommodation. Why not be a little gracious and offer this as a welcome package?
I'd stay at this apartment again and would recommend it to a friend. Bring your own soap.
