Although the hotel was ageing over the years, it was once a stylish place with good staff. But not anymore.
Rooms needed real renovation but not a basic vamp.
Whoever was in charge of designing the rooms and the common areas should be put in jail ! The whole thing looks both cheap and dated already !
Service was very poor overall with a bad attitude and no willingness to help.
Breakfast was a pure joke. Mercure is not known for serving good breakfasts but this one was far under usual standards.
PC fo guests use was out of order.
Outside terrasse was a complete mess and not welcoming at all.
Very limited choice from the bar.
Rooms renovated with very low standards (more like Ibis).
Awful lobby, looking like an old Starbucks or Mc Donalds from 10 years ago.
Only positive things : very comfortable bed and great location 15 min. from city center.
Sorry ! Some clients may think the renovation was a success. For me, it is only changes with restricted budget and lack of imagination.

Stayed at the hotel for a week whilst at INSEAD.

Location is great, just a short 5 mins walk across one road to reach the INSEAD campus. Near to running trails in the woods and easily a 15min walk to the town. 15 min to nearest train station.

There is a small pool (which was under renovation), but winner was the well-stocked bar with good happy hour offers. Check out the Football table which can accommodate 12 players! Live band plays on certain nights.

Wifi is free, but patchy dependent on room location. Most chose to work at the lobby where connectivity is more stable.

Please bring your own toiletries - these are not provided. Also, don't be surprised if there are only French channels on the TV,

Reception staff were great! Very friendly and helpful in assisting with restaurant and transfers reservations.

A well run and maintained hotel with an easy walk to the Chateau and the town centre. Reception and service staff were all very pleasant and attentive. Fontainebleau Chateau is well worth a visit, especially compared to Versailles which is so crowded. The Mercure is the ideal place to stay in town.

The hotel is clean with large rooms.
Included with the room: a heating pot for water , a small cooler, hair dryer, safe, and room service is offered.
I wanted to see Barbizon and recover from a small injury. The ladies who greeted me were very helpful and over my stay, continued to be helpful and informative. I am happy to have stayed with the Mercure.

I chose the hotel as it was a 5 minute walk to my place of visit, and also because I held an Accor membership. The check in process was Okay. Wifi wasn't shared until asked. The room I was given overlooked the Roof of the the building, and there was No View whatsoever, The quality of housekeeping was outrageous - Towels were shredded and of poor quality. Toiletries were not existent - A body lotion (irrespective of the quality) is a standard in any hotel but neither Novotel Ury not Mercure Fontainbleau provide it - When asked, No Answers provided either! The Air Conditioning takes hours to cool down the room and that too not to a desirable level (I would consider 22'C to be normal). Their bathrooms are so tiny that you have to twist and turn to get out of there safely. The wardrobes have space only to hand clothes - No rack space provided. No drawer space. The study table in the room was a laugh - A poor quality study table that could be wheeled around - I suspect that the hotel might be using it for multiple purposes.

Lastly, one would expect at least a basic room service menu. God forbid should you feel hungry and have to order in, you might just have to starve!! Never again.
