The hotel is housed is a lovely old building dating from medieval times and, as such, it falls in line with most of the ‘old city’ .....! Indeed, the sheer amount of authentic period buildings which cover most of the old town is simply astonishing, with the houses weaving in and out of narrow alleys and streets, decorated with their original carved motifs of portrait heads, angels and decorations. We were able to park right outside (alternately, there’s off street parking provided by the hotel for an extra 20 euros) and once escorted to our set of rooms, up a winding narrow staircase, we were bowled over by the stained glass windows and genuinely antique, unique feel to the place. Our bedroom overlooked the small pool at the back (which features a fake current which can be turned in to make the swim all that much harder) . We had a nice bathroom, again overlooking the back garden, and a small sitting room looking out onto the small winding road below. It was all very comfortable, well lit and the air conditioning was most welcome on such a hot night.
Breakfast on the terrace the next morning was perfect.....cafitieres of coffee, breads, pastries, fruits, yogurt and jam.....though we never got to try the restaurant for dinner as it was closed that evening (beware: quite a few French restaurants shut on both Sunday and Monday nights).
The town, with its abundance of sixteenth century domestic buildings, is fantastic, as if time had stood still to become what is now a living testament to medieval city planning. You must go and stay here!!

Dear Felice,

We thank you for your lovely comment.

It is an old bulding from the XV and XVI centuries. It was an old possession nice Templar.

Every morning, it is " à la carte" breakfast. It is served in the courtyard, in the breakfast room or in your room. It is composed of 23 products fresh, local, biological and/or handmade. The price of the breakfast is 23 euros.

We have a Swimming pool with swim against the current, heated and Whirpool bath.

The restaurant is open from tuesday to saturday, only for dinner. The chef cooks and serves himself an authentic cuisine.

Do not hesitate to contact us directly at message@champdesoiseaux.com to have a better price.

Looking forward to welcome you for your next stay in the medieval city of Troyes.

Beautiful friendly Hotel just easy walking distance from the City Centre, with a tasteful conversion of this old building into lovely individual rooms. We had an en suite Wet Room. The Breakfast was extra and quite pricey, but it was really good, with personal service and there was an air of calm throughout.

Room Tip: Ground floor room a bit noisy in the night when people passing by, Rooms away from the front street are quieter

we stayed in troyes for two nights at des oiseaux. first, the renovation is exquisite and we appreciated the attention
to detail in the hotel. once we got
to town, i appreciated the location much more, walkable to the restaurants, but away from all of the noise and congestion. parking was a breeze. we also took two meals at the hotel because it was so lovely and convenient.

This hotel is simply perfect. Friendly staff give you a warm welcome to the beautifully restored historic building. The rooms and bathrooms are super comfortable and spacious. The gardens are enchanting and so peaceful. There is a small pool.
Dinner was delicious so book that too. And the breakfast was just so prettily presented and very good value; you can buy their preserves which are delicious.
We had the best night's sleep.

Room Tip: all the rooms looked good

Stayed at Le champ des Oiseaux on Saturday night . It's a beautiful old building which works really well as a hotel . It's very peaceful yet close enough to the city centre and restaurants etc. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner as it was fully booked - I'm guessing that's because it's popular .
The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful on arrival - they recommended and booked another restaurant for us which turned out to be excellent - " Le Concept "
The room was very quirky and had everything we needed . The bed was super comfy and the linen luxurious .
Breakfast was served either in a beautiful cobbled courtyard outside or in the cosy dining room .
These people really know how to create and run hotels .
Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Can't speak for any others but ours was in the roof and was stunning !
