The food was unimpressive but was made up for in service. The host completely translated the menu to English for us which was helpful since only one in our group speaks French. The reservation process was easy and thorough (there were no tables available in the cellar so I was emailed back to check that upstairs was ok for a table)

One reason that we chose to dine at L'Alambic was that it was open on Monday evenings. When next in Reims, we shall return to it because the meal and ambiance was extraordinarily good! We had a table in the vaulted cellar which was a pleasant experience in its own right. We selected from the €32 menu, my wife and I choosing different dishes and both of us were very pleased. Of course, we could not resist exchanging samples. The service was polite and friendly and I have no hesitation in recommending L'Alambic, especially now we know where to park!

My husband and I spent one night in Reims, France. After reading the other reviews and seeing the close proximity to our hotel we decided to try this restaurant. From the friendly, and English accommodating staff, we were able to book a reservation for two, half an hour prior to opening, for later the same evening. The staff were very friendly and eager to assist us, which made the French menu easier to discern. We asked for and were promptly provided with appetizer recommendations, and landed on escargot (which neither of us have had before). We enjoyed the new experience, and despite the psychological hurdles, we rather enjoyed the app. I had the filet of beef in port sauce, and my husband tried the highly recommended lamb! Both of which were delicious. We skipped out on dessert but we did enjoy a bottle of 2008 vintage Veuve Cliquot to round out our 6 months of marriage anniversary dinner. If you’re in the area and looking for a wonderful dining experience, do not hesitate to add L’ambic to your itinerary. The customer service, the quality of food, and the dining atmosphere are all exquisite. Enjoy!

We are so pleased to have spent our first & only night dining here in Reims at L’alambic. Cosy atmosphere in the arched stone brick alcove with a beautiful French menu including froisgras and snails. With the help of our waiter who was able to converse in English and attentive all evening, even assisting with our 3 year old son, we chose the rabbit and lamb dish, both cooked perfectly with suitably matched vegetables presented beautifully. The highlights were the creme brûlée and citron tart. The wine list was very good and presented by Provence’s. Thank you, thoroughly enjoyed.

Excellent food at a sensible price. The lamb was delicous and good choice of deserts. The staff was helpful, happy and attentive.
