“Holiday perfection”
Reviewed 23 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

What a lovely town La Chatre is, and La Maison Rose is the perfect holiday home. The nearest shop (a couple of minutes away) was an excellent boulangerie so we were able to eat warm croissants for breakfast every day. I find it staggering that a town with a population of less than 5,000 can have such a wonderful array of shops, restaurants and services. Because of this, and also the fact that the house was so comfortable, we hardly ventured very far at all. We were just content to kick back and relax with a good book and the odd game of Scrabble in the garden room. The owners are incredibly organised and thoughtful in the way they have set up the house, and because there was no internet access we really could get away from it all.

“A rural idyll on the edge of a charming rural French town”
Reviewed 31 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

La Maison Rose is a delightful cottage on the edge of a beatiful town in the very heart of France, in the beatiful Berry region. The cottage has its own large and very private garden on the banks af the Indre river. It is impeccably kept; clean, neat and well appointed. It has a uniquely decorated mezzanine bedroom; a capacious claw-foot bath; a huge and well equippped kitchen and a sunny and bright sunrrom with a view of the garden. It is 'out'of' town' in feel and ambience, but an easy walk to the charming old La Chatre centre ville. The region is rich in history, architecture and culture. The locals are deligthful, and the cottage owners could not be more accommodating.
