The Grange is a large villa built in a quaint town deep in Loire Valley's countryside. Location provides a feeling of true 'living' on the farm experience, with small village, 700 year old church and where one is surrounded by fields of wheat, sunflower, flowers. Chateaus are anywhere from 20min-1hr drive by car and are all located within easy reach of Clere du Bois.
We very much enjoyed staying at the house where we found it nice, clean, with full facilities bedrooms, bathrooms ... plenty of room to roam around, including, such items as TV-Dish, WiFi, fireplace and other items of convenience. I guess if you plan to be staying on the location, pool comes in really handy ;).
We want to thank Angela and Derek for a very great reception and providing a good instruction on getting to town and a perfect atmosphere for pleasant conversation as well as being such great neighbors.
We hope to come back one day !!
The Grange was the location for our family holiday which included 3 couples and a baby. The accommodation was perfect as each couple had their own bedroom and shower room and downstairs there was a spacious kitchen-dining-living room together with an outside eating area.
Our hosts, Angela and Derek, were extremely helpful not only with local information but also in conjuring up baby equipment which we had forgotten!
La Vielle Ferme is a lovely place to relax in. We spent most of our time enjoying the facilities - sun bathing, table tennis, badminton, boules and the perfect swimming pool.
We've just had a great week in the Grange, exploring this lovely part of France. Derek and Angela were great hosts, making sure we got the most from our stay and offering advice on local shops, restaurants and places of interest. Our party of 6 adults and 1 infant, ranging from 3 months to 80 years old, took full advantage of the fantastic pool, bikes for hire and ping pong table. The grange is a snug, comfortable and well equipped base from which we visited Loches, Tours, Brenne National Park, nearby Chatillon and the glorious Chateau of Chenonceau. Would definitely recommend.
Outstanding setting and facilities for luxurious and charming 3 bedroomed accommodation with log fire for cosy evenings in late October. Covered swimming pool and table tennis table provided chill out entertainment for mum, dad, two teenagers and 82 year old Grandma. Good walking (and running) through farmland and along very quiet roads from the doorstep. Within 30 minutes drive are Loches (beautiful medieval town which bustles on market day), the Chateau at Azay and the lakes area at Brenne. Just over an hour away lies the fabulous Chenonceaux Chateau and its gardens. Also within reach are the Loire Valley Chateaux. Wish we had taken bicycles as the area is ideal for such an activity. We drove back to Manchester UK in one day. Definitely recommend.
The Grange is one of the nicest places that we have stayed in . The hosts could not have been more helpful and the house is well equipped and beautifully appointed. (Extremely clean too) The grounds are complete with lovely gardens and sitting areas. The pool is also an excellent addition to the complex .
All arrangements were easily made and all communications helpful and efficient.
