We have had a wonderful 3 week holiday at this gem of a cottage. Very well equipped, homely and decorated lovely with a lot of charm. We had fantastic weather, so the lovely private pool got plenty of use. Whether you wanted to sun bathe or rest in a shady area away from the heat, the garden and patio catered for your every need.
The area is very charming with lots of gorgeous villages and chateaus to visit. The larger ones I.e. Chambourd, Ambrose etc can all be reached within 1- 2 hours The motorways are within easy reach of the cottage, which is situated in a little hamlet and not in the main town. It is very quiet with excellent parking and locked gates. It is 1 minute from the cycle track which is very good to cycle all the way into Chinon in 30 mins. (Very easy ride). The cottage has cycles you can use.
Chinon is a very historical town, with a magnificent fort and many medieval buildings
We stayed at the family's town house last year and over these 2 years their communications are excellent They can not do enough for you.
I hope to see them again in the future
This was a great holiday in a beautiful house, very well equipped, with its own swimming pool, in a beautiful part of France.
Our hosts were very friendly, accommodating and informative without being in any way intrusive.
The nearby town of Chinon was a delight and I would have no hesitation in recommending this gite to anyone
Very friendly welcome with a delicous bottle of local rose and homemade jam in the fridge. Clean and spacious. Good walking and biking opportunities in the area.
We stayed at Genestine at the end of June. We had found the property through Trip Advisor & we've got to admit we weren't disappointed. A beautiful Gite in a beautiful part of France.
It was fully equipped & if anything was not then it was a simple matter of ringing the owners who came round.
I would certainly recommend it & we hope to return soon
This is the second time we have stayed at one of Laurent, Francoise and Martine's properties, last year we stayed at La Marrisou in Huismes. Again this didn't disappoint, it is in a quiet tranquil setting and is beautifully presented with everything you need, it is clear that they take great pride in their properties. Having holidayed in France for a number of years their properties are by far the best we have stayed in and the attention to detail is amazing. The pool was great and kids spent a great deal of time in it. My parents stayed in the adjoining property which was just as impressive.
You are met by the owners who show you around and are willing to impart their knowledge of the local area, they also leave a small welcome hamper, and the Jam (that is homemade) was lovely. We took our own bikes but there were four bikes available to use, and access to the cycle route is only 100 metres away
I was reluctant to write a review as I want to make sure that we can get a booking there next year, and would like to keep this cottage a secret!!!!
