We stayed here on Sunday 3rd September 2017. Please don't be put off by the outside/entrance hall/reception area, I was and nearly went elsewhere! However I was wrong and the hotel room was lovely, clean room, comfortable bed and hot shower. A few minutes walk to the centre of Dijon and as it was Sunday we parked on the road outside and it was free overnight until 9am the next morning. A perfect location for an overnight stay on the way to Italian Lakes. Many Thanks.

This hotel is a pretty good option if you want to be close to the centre of old Dijon but don't want to spunk your holiday budget against a wall in one night. We paid €120 for adjoining rooms. As it turns out the rooms didn't adjoin so ended up with two doubles. Not ideal for a family of four but hardly disastrous.
The colourful manager assured us that such adjoining misunderstanding are not uncommon if the booking comes via Booking.Com, which ours had. Apparently it's a language/translation thing. Plus ca change, as I believe they say in Spain. So this hotel is basically okay. It looks dreadful when you pull up outside after hours and hours of driving and shouting at your children. When we pitched up
the first thing I thought was 'Oh Christ, people have clearly been murdered here.'
Immediate reactions didn't contradict my initial response. One of our rooms smelt distinctly smoky. Not like someone had just finished a dooby, smoky. Not that bad. But it had that second-hand, morning-after, musty-smell of an eighties pub before opening time. Just prior to when the cleaner picked up the previous night's darts, beer-mats, and ash trays. There was also a fallen curtain rail. Easy enough to reattach and not like like finding a dead rat in the sink, but neither something that inspired confidence.
We persevered though and despite the fact both our showers flooded into the bedroom (faulty fittings and rubbish shower curtains) the overall vibe was entirely bearable and had our rooms interconnected, as advertised on Bookings.com, all the other stuff would have been passing distractions rather than major pisser-offs.
The staff here were very good and actually, despite the above, I'd recommend staying. But beware if you've booked a connected/joined family room.
So in summary: Acceptable, but only in the same way as when your partner inadvertently farts in their sleep.

The hotel is located on the edge of the city center, within easy easy walking distance of Les Halles (the great city market). If you are a pedestrian like me, you will also pass by the Maille store (on the way to Les Halles), which should not be ignored if you love mustard. Dijon is simply a beautiful place, and the staff at the Hotel Montpachet will help you understand why. The hotel itself is a gem: my best buy during a recent 10-day visit to France.

Stayed here twice in the way and way back from South of France.
Arrival was late 9pm but created by a friendly face and given the code for the door and the wifi passcode we ordered breakfast for the following day we were also given a map of the local area which was a nice touch as it was dark. From the outside its nothing special but the rooms were great very modern and very clean and spacious. The breakfast was not great and on the return journey we avoided it. We had two double rooms for €118 which was good value for the location and quality of the room would defiantly recommend this
