Nice room but exceedingly rude staff support.

The Kyriad is located in the center of the city opposite the Dijon train station. It has limited parking spaces for hotel clients. We arrived around 10 PM. The night clerk informed us that hotel parking was full and directed us to park in the train station parking lot immediately across from the hotel. The night clerk said that the hotel would reimburse some of the costs of the parking tariff.

The next morning we were shocked to see that the overnight parking amounted to roughly half of the cost of our room! We took our receipt to the front desk for reimbursement but the clerk announced that we had parked in the wrong train station parking lot – short-term parking instead of long-term parking.

We informed the front desk clerk that the night clerk had directed us where to park. When this information made no impact on the front desk clerk we asked to see the hotel manager. The front desk clerk then informed us that she was the hotel manager. We asked for her name. From there the conversation spiraled downwards. She handed us the business card of another colleague. After she admitted that she wasn’t the person indicated on the business card, we asked again for her name. She refused to give us her full name.

This front desk clerk’s excuses for the parking lot misunderstanding were: 1) The booking agency failed to provide Kyriad with client contact details so that parking arrangements could be made. 2) the night clerk must have made an error, and 3) our “criminal” behavior was being captured by the front desk video camera.

I trust that Kyriad management will review the videotape of our conversation between this unidentified Kyriad front desk clerk, my wife and me at 10:30 AM on Sunday April 17 in the Kyriad Prestige Dijon-Centre. They will see a staff employee berating two clients who booked their hotel room with a booking agency because the Kyriad Prestige Dijon-Centre has a high approval customer rating.

Large hotel chains certainly realize that rooms are a commodity product differentiated only by the quality of their staff support. When hotel staff members realize that they are in the hospitality business, their behavior will align appropriately.

We stopped in Dijon on our way back from the alps and were looking for a well located, clean and fairly priced hotel. Hotwire got us the Kyriad Prestige and it was we were looking for. Located next to the central station, the location was great in that sense that we were located right in the outskirts of the center, just a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms were clean, stylish and comfortable allowing for a brief but charming stay in beautiful Dijon.

Very friendly receptionists (male and female) keen to help us enjoy our visit. We had seen previous reviews and therefore asked for a room high up and at the back. We were rewarded with peace and quiet. Breakfast room up steep stairs off reception - perhaps a sign post or two might help. Breakfast food excellent - remember you are in France and do not expect a full English! - very convenient for the excellent tram service , the town and the station

Room Tip: As high up as possible and at the back

I stayed with my family for two nights.

They offered 2 double bed which makes the rooms very small.
No room cleaning for the 2 nights I stayed. Really not happy with that.

Other than that the place is situated nicely near the train station and the old town centre.

Breakfast is charged 15 per head and standard stuffs in the breakfast.
