Great situation in the old town with some of the best views from the sea view bedrooms I have experienced.Great place to stay if you want to catch the ferry back to Portsmouth with great staff and food.and next to the wall which one can walk around as well as ideal for exploring the old town of St. Marlo which is lovely.

Room tip: Sea view from the fourth floor corner.

We enjoyed a few drinks in the charming bar-restaurant area of this very-well situated hotel restaurant. Service is good and friendly, with a good ratio of quality-price.
The main room is spacious and has been well restored, but there is a slight air of chaos about the place, with cleaning materials and empty boxes cheek by jowl with the bar and access to toilets (basement).

The situation could not be better - stained carpets, too small towels, stained walls in rooms, sheets not very neat. Nothing is too clean would not mind paying more if it wer all spruced up. rather seedy.

Room tip: clean them - shampoo carpets

So, most of the things were nice. The location is awesome, the building is nice, there is a restaurant and a bad within the hotel. The room was well cleaned.

The princing was alright, 78€ for a double room.

But, we got a queen size bed, with 2 separates matresses. making a hole in the middle of the bed, when you want to spend a romantic weekend and sleep close to each others, that is a pitty... This hotel would deserve 4 stars but when you cut of a part of our pleasures..

The restaurant was over booked. Full to capacity with minimal staff and the outside terrace was full. Not a good experience for a 280 euro lunch. Was a complete disappointment and will not be staying there again. The scrambled egg at breakfast was just a lump of egg on a hot pot. No good.
