We had a major hiatus in our plans and needed a last minute stay in St Malo. This hotel came up trumps as it's close to the station and within an easy taxi ride to the port - if only there had been any taxis available. But the proprietor could not have been more helpful. He'd already prepared a nice breakfast for us way earlier than the advertised time and, having got no response from any taxi firm, drove us himself to the port for the early morning ferry. The room was fine and the bed was really comfortable. Lots of nice restaurants in the area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a very reasonably priced stay in St Malo.

As many have done, we chose to overnight in St Malo before catching the morning ferry to Portsmouth. When we tried to book there was not much reasonably priced accommodation available but we made a good choice. The owners made a real effort to make the hotel feel comfortable and welcoming. As others have said parking is easy; it is really handy for the ferry; the bar opposite had a good feel to it. It is about a 15 minute walk into the old town, which was fine (unless you get caught in a torrential rain storm as we did). We had no complaints and would certainly return. For us the dogs were a bonus. They have their own bar but it was not open on the night we stayed.

Needed a place close to ferry and car rental drop-off for early morning departure. It was just a 3/5 minute drive. Location was perfect. Lots of safe parking outside hotel. A good restaurant and a popular local bar were around the corner , as well as couple of cafes and a bakery for our morning snack , before going to the ferry.Hotel basic with some "interesting" decoration. The price reflected the standard of the hotel rooms , from a cosmetic point of view , but the budget price did not reflect the excellent hospitality of the owners. The location was quiet , the beds were comfortable the hosts were obliging. If you want convenience over 5 star quality this is the place for you. I will cetainly use this hotel again.Recommended.

This is a really good budget choice near the station (but round a corner). Worth seeking out. Pleasantly decorated, decent bed and bathroom. lots of tourist leaflets. Lots of charm. Friendly family owners. Expect to be greeted by their large (Newfoundland?) dog - who is a real softie.Only negative point is that the carpets need a little cleaning. I would happily go back.
