Mature couple
Le Pecq, France
June 20, 2011

Friendly staff, clean room, well appointed bathroom. Walking distance to centre and the old walled city. Private parking area just across the road, secured at night. Simple but good breakfast. Better value for money than the larger chain motels usually found on the outskirts of towns.

Bed was a little small for a double and the room could get a little hot in the summer with no aircon unit.

Room Tip: would not recomended with children.

Hotel is in a very central location for Concarneau. Hotel itself is quite basic. Nothing special. Rooms are ok. The bathroom was the nicest element. The breakfast was ok. Not a bad place to stay for one night.

We toured Brittany by car, exploring most of the coastline and its towns and villages. Concarneau, particularly, attracted us. It is well worth a visit, with an old medieval section, a bustling port that one can wander freely, big marina, good shoreline walks, and even a nature walk, plus an engaging town -- especially on market days. The hotel is well run. It is clear the owners care about their guests and their property. Good value for the money and very pleasant.

We stayed in this hotel for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The family who own this hotel were so welcoming, making our stay with children and grandparents a pleasure. The buffet breakfast is fantastic, the rooms were comfortable I can only recommend this as a great experience.

Booked an overnight stay at the hotel mainly because it was the only one I could get for the period required. Seemed reasonable and in the area we needed for a pre-holiday stay in Brittany.
Due to (at the time) on going dispute being run by the fishermen in France our ferry into Roscoff arrived just a little bit earlier then scheduled. (3.50am the bell to wake up was sounded instead of 6.50am!) and so we arrived in Concarneau hours and hours before we planned. In fact it was so early even the Market hadn't opened. We turned up at the hotel at 11 to see when we could actually check-in and having looked at my children (and not to see myself and wife) the manager checked and told us that she had 2 rooms that were available and that we could check in straight away.

The rooms were clean and the bathrooms clean and stocked with plenty of clean towels, soap and the usual shower stuff. Though not particularly huge and with not a great deal storage space the beds were extremely comfortable and the curtains good at keeping the room dark. However hidden behind the curtain was a switch which raised and lowered an electronic shutter providing complete blackout. There is a school near the rear of the property and one of the main roads to the front but the double glazing more than keeps the room quiet.

Breakfast is served in a room behind the reception is a serve yourself buffet with the usual French breakfast items, with tea coffee and hot chocolate being provided.

There is parking just across the road from the hotel which can be a problem in the popular tourist town.

The Manager and her staff (which I would guess on the whole being her family) were exceptional, being friendly smiling and always looking to help and kept a family going homicidal with sleep deprivation! Merci
