“The perfect Holiday home”

This was our second visit to Le Peyrat, which we booked the year before during our first holiday here. The reason for our booking so early was simply the all round quality of the gite, the beautiful area and to ensure we didn’t miss the booking as Tracy was already getting enquiries while we were there.
Over the years we have visited numerous gites that have had great points to them but also weaknesses, quite often these being the bedrooms and / or kitchens.
The bedrooms at Peyrat are perfect. They are all large, clean, comfortable, well lit and airy with excellent en-suites to each of them. There is also a bedroom specifically for children. This has meant we have always had a good sleep each night and have been fresh for the new day.
The kitchen is large, well equipped with plenty of room to prepare and cook food with a long dining table for all the family.
The heated pool and outside area is perfect for private sunbathing and is fenced off to keep children out when not in use. There is also a La boules square, ideal for getting an all round tan.
The gite is perfect for spending long evenings outside, talking and drinking wine into the night, but if you also wish to go out for the evening there are numerous restaurants and bars near by to try or a visit to Ste Foy le Grande is always well worth it.
St Emillion and Brantome are also close by and are ‘must see’ places to visit.
Families who have previously been to France may have had similar experiences as we have had but will not be disappointed here. For first timers to French holidays, we cannot recommend Le Peyrat enough.
Also worth bearing in mind, the owners house is next door but completely private from the gite. Tracy is so helpful and will advise you about anything you may need to know about the area while you are there.

“As good as it gets”

Sometimes you just hit upon something so good. When we put in our requirements into the holiday lettings search Le Payrat was the first gite to come up. It looked so perfect for our large family that we booked almost immediately, and we were not disappointed.
The large open plan downstairs accommodation was fantastic it made daily living so easy, for meal times during the day and relaxing at night. All the bedrooms were of a good size and all en-suite (except the small baby room) which was a god send! Out side, there was plenty of room to loose yourself, with a lovely pool area and barbecue, which we made a lot of use of despite the weather. The gite was very clean and well presented, you could tell the owners had put a lot of thought into all areas to make your holiday stay as comfortable as possible. The surrounding area is very rural, the village small and quaint. We frequented the local bar, the new owner was most obliging, spoke very good english and dare i say, cooks lovely home made hand cut chips! There are some really excellent places to explore nearby; canoeing, go-karkig, walking and wine! When it comes to a good family holiday Le Payrat is 'as good as it gets'

Tracy & Brian our hosts, were welcoming, hospitable from the off. The standard of accommodation surpassed all of our expectations. We enjoyed St Emilion, the wine tours (which Tracy kindly organised for us ) with Robin & Sasha and Lucian. The meal cooked at the house by Dimitri, the chef, was fabulous and extremely good value for money. The Friday night market should not be missed, local people(French & English) very lively and something for all ages.Le Peyrat is perfect for all ages, we had a 1 year old baby and all the facilities were there to make our holiday very relaxing. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to be back very soon.
