This restaurant has the perfect location to enjoy a very tasty dinner with an amazing view on the Garonne.
Typical food from SouthWest of France.
Also very nice for business dinner or party with many people.

Two people from Bordeaux recommended this restaurant, but they warned me to go at lunchtime and have the lunchtime menu which, at 18€, remained affordable for us. We were a table of four, we sat on the terrace overlooking the bridge. It was exactly like the photo. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. We were never rushed, although we stayed for several hours. The food was good - just the right amount of food, and it was unusual yet classic. We loved the shiny glasses, the perfect white tablecloths, the politeness, the food and the wine was excellent. Highly reccomended although it is expensive if you eat à la carte and in the evening, but well worth a visit

A fantastic location with great food and good service. Really just as you want a restaurant in France to be but unfortunately not all are. It is just across the river by the Stone Bridge but you can then sit and look at Bordeaux over the river. Not cheap BUT worth the money

N44°50.296' W0°33.521' On sunny days, the sunset over Bordeaux is a big crowd puller for this restaurant, with an outside bar and terrace. With the Bordeaux Marathon in the background and a cloudless sky during our visit in April 2017, the view lifted our spirits and our expectations. However, there is a well know saying in the restaurant business, that great views make for bad food.

The restaurant building itself is a semi-permanent structure in the shape of a large rooftop barn, near Pont de Pierre Bridge and tram stop Stalingrad. With limited parking space on the Quai Deschamps, the restaurant offers valet parking.

We struggled a bit with the menu but the waiter explained patiently the different menu items and gave excellent advice on the wine options. We settled for the roulé de veau basse température, soufflé de pommes de terre aux girolles, sauce miel-gingembre including dessert croustillant feuillantine au chocolat (€28,50) and tartare de saumon avec frites maison (€22,80). We chose Les Chênes de Bouscaut, Pessac-Léognan vin blanc 2014 (€39) with the food.

The roll of calf meat tasted excellent. Nicely presented with delicate flavours: fine French cuisine. The tartare of small pieces of salmon was excellent with a very light dill dressing. The fried sweet potato made a good combination. Again, fine French cuisine. The wine was at the right temperature and tasted excellent too. We enjoyed the main course very much. Between main course and dessert, we ordered a cheese platter for digestive. The waiter explained the different cheese without a problem. We finished out diner with crème brulée and croustillant feuillantine au chocolat, matching the high level of cuisine experienced earlier.

We found the attitude towards service of Le Café du Port perfect: always in the distance observing and anticipating customer requests. Never intrusive, making the customer feel at home and well cared. The food was gourmet, fine French cuisine, and did not suffer the great view Le Café du Port offers to its clientele. Very recommended.
