I had a very good time at the mama shelter.
The Front Desk was very helpful and nice.
Bar and breakfast service was as well very nice and professional.
Housekeeping was efficient and everything was perfectly clean.

Thank you very much Mama's team.

We've stayed at Mama Shelter twice now and both times have been fantastic. The rooms are very cool looking, but also very functional. Often, hotels that go all out for great design lack in comfort, but not Mama Shelter. The beds are the most comfortable hotel beds around. The small rooms are quite small, but well appointed (and our suitcases fit right under the bed after we unpacked so there was no clutter), and it's Paris, you're not going to spend the whole day in your room anyway. There's a great restaurant that serves a good breakfast if you're not into going to a café. The rooms don't have TVs, they have Macs on the wall. It's a very fun hotel to stay in. Play around with the menu on the Mac, take some pictures, make a video, have a good time.

Staff - A+++, friendly, accommodating, helpful.

Neighborhood - we love the 20th. It's not touristy. It's not crazy busy. It's not in the center of things. It's exactly the way we like it.

Room Tip: Leave your phone charger outlet adapter at home if traveling from the US. The rooms have Macs on the wall instead of TVs and you can plug your USB cable right into the computer to charge your phone or other devices.

I think quirkiness is this hotels selling point really.
The staff have a quirky uniform - and they are all very nice, friendly and helpful.
The lighting is quirky - a bit on the dull side.
The decor is quirky - colourful, modern, chic.
The room was a bit quirky - toilet and shower on one side of the entrance corridor and basin and bar/fridge on the other side. The bed was in the middle of the room and consequently there was little room to open our suitcase despite the room being a decent size - not a good use of space really. Nicely decorated though and clean. Good, comfy bed. The quirkiest thing was the provision of a microwave ? what for we couldnt work out because they do not provide the obvious tea and coffee making facilities.
It's situated in a decent part of Bordeaux within easy walking distance of most of the main attractions and a stones throw from the tram stop. Good security and safe in the room. Good WiFi. Can't comment on the food as we ate out - after all there are hundreds of restaurants to choose from.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and were well looked after so I would recommend. It is a bit different but I'm not sure I'd be searching out another Mama Shelter.

Took my wife for a surprise trip to Bordeaux for her birthday. Wanted it to be memorable, so decided on Mama Shelter since it was reasonably priced, great location, and fun atmosphere. What happens at Mama Shelter stays at Mama Shelter unless you want a copy of the video! :-) Restaurant and bar were good and lively with live music in the evening, young local crowd. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I have recommended it to others as well.
