One of the attractions of this lovely property is its location away from the busyness of Bordeaux city centre. It's only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the main shopping and eating district, however for those who would rather not walk the nearest tram stop is just a two minute walk away. The house is very stylish, spacious and a credit to its owner. The little garden is perfect for relaxing and outdoor eating. Helene is a lovely welcoming host!
The one thing I should point out is that there is a McDonalds drive through at the end of the street and the entrance/exit to a multi-storey carpark is directly facing the front door. The McDonalds closes at 11.00pm however cars seem to be able to enter and leave the carpark all night which causes a bit of noise. That being said we both enjoyed our stay at Maison & jardin secret en plein coeur de Bordeaux and would have loved to have stayed longer.
This is a delightful house which feels like a home. Helene has taken a lot of care with decor and furnishings. It has a lovely enclosed garden where there is a table & chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. It's a really good location with an excellent supermarket and boulangere very close by. There are also good restaurants within walking distance. Cafe du Port has good food and a great view of the river. It's great being across the river from the centre - you have wonderful views especially in the evening. There was a bit of noise from some building work across the street but not excessive and parking is very difficult in this neighbourhood.
