We were just passing and so popped in for a drink on Monday afternoon, but after reading the delicious sounding menu, we decided to dine.
During our drinks and menu perusal, the restaurant lights kept going on and off and being a little concerned, we asked if all was OK before we ordered ....
We made our choices and sat back and enjoyed the chilled music and lovely decor (....with the lights going on and off constantly) - and soon after candles were placed on the tables (quite romantic for a Monday afternoon we thought!).
We had a bit of a wait .... then our orders arrived - but minus the fries (which accompanied the burger) and chilli side fries (to go with my small starter as a main) - as the electricity had seemingly cut out at just the wrong time and we were advised there was not enough residual heat/fat to cook the fries in ....... so they had no choice but to close the kitchen down ..... Oh dear!
I must say that the staff handled this unfortunate situation most excellently and it was clear that their absolute main priority was to ensure that we did not leave unhappy and they went above and beyond in making up for our rather eventful first visit.
The food we did eat was absolutely delicious and the staff and restaurant Manager were faultless in their customer service (even the Chef personally apologised).
We will most definitely return when next visiting Manchester as the food was gorgeous (the Korean Chicken was amazing) and we would recommend ECB for a drink/chat or a lovely meal.
Service is second to none - and so is the food!
