My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a one night pre-Xmas eve break. The entrance to the hotel is very impressive and the staff were polite and efficient on check in. The room itself was good, no view, standard flat screen tv, bathroom was ok for 5 star but not amazing -although the shower was great, really spacious and high pressure.

We used the pool and steam whilst we were there which was lovely, as were the staff in there. Breakfast was good and the afternoon tea was particularly good the next day.

The stay was marred somewhat by an unhelpful desk clerk on checkout. When we received the bill on checkout there was £15 worth of mini bar charges when we hadn't had a single drink. I explained that we had placed a bottle of champagne in the fridge and so had moved some of the contents if the fridge to the side in the same cupboard (very difficult to miss when looking to see what was missing from the minibar) and that in fact we had not used anything from within the fridge. Much muttering ensued and I was assured it had been taken off the bill. When I received my credit card statement a month later however it was still there, this meant that I had to telephone the hotel and have it refunded, not a massive problem just a pain. In fairness the woman I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and refunded the cost with no fuss.

All in all i would probably stay again, but in all honesty I'd have to find a good room deal before I favoured it over the Deansgate Hilton.

We stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago whilst visiting manchester and the Bridgewater hall ... It was a lovely hotel, relaxed feel and real quality.. The rooms were a good size , not huge but room enough with lovely marble bathroom and a lovely huge picture window so it was light and a great view over the town.. We are planning on a trip back very soon as we found this hotel great value for the quality of it, i have stayed in so called posher well known hotels in london and they were not as nice.. Looking forward to next visit.

The hotel staff were professional and courteous and really made an effort to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
The best part of the stay - and highly recommended - is a visit to the hotel's Opus restaurant - the food was fabulous and although I had not forewarned them they were able to provide wheat free alternatives for me to eat. The Seabass was amazing but the chips are easily the best i have ever had - how do they make them so light and fluffy.

Good hotel, centrally located. Rooms were well fitted out and luxurious, though make sure yours isnt near an air conditioning vent as we had a suite next to one and it was noisy. Other rooms dont have this problem and are lovely.

The restaurant is great, service from the staff first class and the spa is very nice

Room Tip: Higher floors have less a/c noise. Suites are nice

My 3rd stay in 6 months and still one of my favourite hotels. This place has a very friendly personal feel whilst remaining classy. They have just got it right!! The staff are always willing to help and it feels very genuine. The rooms are very contemporary and have a luxurious feel. They have all the facilities that you would expect of a top hotel and are a reasonable size. I usually stay in a suite which are gorgeous and large but this time had a deluxe room - this was still of the same standard just smaller. The spa is small but the service is good and again the staff professional and friendly. The breakfast offered lots of variety and was again of a high quality and the service very good. I cannot fault this hotel to be honest it manages to deliver everytime i stay and i do stay in a number of hotels around the country. A special mention to the conceirge who always go out of their way to help and are very useful if you need any local information. I hope the hotel can keep this standard up as i will continue to use them when i visit manchester!

Room Tip: The city views are impressive but you pay extra. The alfresco suites are very generously sized
