My lad chose this restaurant for two reasons: 1) it’s close proximity to party central and 2) it does a vegan pizza. We were surprised to find only one other table in use at 8pm on a Thursday although this meant we were not battling for the attention of waiting staff. The staff were attentive, polite and friendly, big plus. The food was Ok. To start we ordered the chiccheti, vegan garlic bread and olives. This was all tasty, the olives were large and sweet. The chiccheti was plenty for 2 though we actually shared between 3 which was also ample. Best part of the chiccheti was the mozzarella and pea Arancini. Lovely flavours. Mains were quite simple- two margherita pizzas, one vegan of course, a carbonara and wild boar meatballs al forno. The pizzas were fine and tasty. The carbonara was a little hard in places suggesting either undercooked or heated under a lamp or oven? The meatballs were tasty however the crust on top was a little burnt but not too badly. The flavour was good and the sauce had a cheeky little kick. For pudding, gelato (vegan of course) for one and the salted caramel chocolate brownie for another. The gelato was very tasty indeed. The brownie was delicious with very sweet but delicate flavours. For drinks two bottles of prosecco although the pink Veneto ran out so the second bottle was a house bottle. Drivers may want to try the very low alcohol beer, it’s very hoppy in flavour and worth trying something different. A good experience but given that only two tables had been taken we were surprised that the food wasn’t spot on and that they ran out of prosseco- perhaps they had a heavy afternoon session! Reasonably priced all things considered and with parking so close, got to be worth trying for yourself.
