I stayed at the Weston Hall for 3 days for a business trip. I read some of the reviews so I knew what to expect at arrival and I was actually quite surprised in finding the room quite clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable enough and the room was dusted and hoovered. The bathroom was clean although a bit tired in the overall look. Towels were clean and white, no stains, quite soft as well. Breakfast was actually very good: cooked breakfast as well as cereal selection and dried and fresh fruit. One small note which did not bother me but might upset some travellers: this is actually a student hall so it might get a bit crowded/noisy from time to time but nothing unbearable. Final note: wifi was not accessible from the room, only in the main hall.

Room Tip: The Red Core seemed cleaner to me whilst passing by the other corridors

Basically this is an option for visitors coming to Manchester on a budget. It is a student halls of residence that turns in to a budget hotel during the holidays.
The positives: good central location, near to gay village, and also the breakfast is good if you opt to take it. Also tea, coffee and kettle provided in room.
Negatives: The place is like a maze, and it is quite a task to find your room after checking in! Once inside the room, they are very basic and small, and rather characterless. But if you are in Manchester to go out and have a good time, all you want is a place to crash and have a shower and the room provides just that.

I stayed at the Weston Hall over the period of three weekends whilst working on Manchester. It's in a good spot, about a five minute walk from Piccadilly station, five minutes from Canal street and just after that China town.

The rooms are very basic but come with clean bedding and towels so can't complain much. The only downside I can pick on is the adjoining doors to the maze of walkways around the hall can be pretty noisy when people are coming and going.

I stayed three times and would've this week too if the students hadn't been back so it must be OK. The staff are really friendly and helpful too.
