Right..... Now read this review 1st. I will be as honest as I possible can about this BUDGET hotel. I paid £43 for 1 night for my daughter and me, on an early Christmas shopping trip to Manchester. We arrived early and was able to leave our luggage in reception so we could go shopping. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the Arndale centre, Afflecks Palace and eateries. The staff were extremely friendly on reception. You will need a valid credit/debit card and ID to check in. The hotel is what looks like an old mill/factory, lots of the original features are still there and give an industrial feel to the interior. The corridors are almost like a storage facility, quirky and different. Now, the rooms are VERY SMALL, so please don't book if you're expecting a good sized room with chairs etc. Our room measured roughly 14ft/10ft including the bathroom. BUT it does have everything that is essential for a short stay. Shower room, full length mirror, bed, tv. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but there is a coffee machine on the Ground floor that makes great coffee. There's also a vending machine selling pop and sweets. The wifi is excellent with no lags or drops. The room has a bare brick wall feature, original sash windows and covered beamed ceilings. Extremely clean. There is air-conditioning in every room, but no storage space for clothing so you'll need to live out of your case. The only thing I really didn't like was the glass wall in the bathroom (picture attached) I don't want someone watching me shower or on the loo. Very undignified and exposing. Things I'd recommend to the Manager is new pillows, they are very flat, but not a drama, as I asked for extra. Overall, the designer of the rooms was quite obviously a man as no woman would design a glass bathroom wall. But perfectly suitable for a 1 night stay in the city. Any longer than that may be a struggle for comfort.
