My husband and i visited this pub as we are new to the area. we were not dissapointed!
We opted for the 2 for 12 pounds menu and although the menu choice was not huge this definatelty works out to be fantastic value for money! I had the Gammon and chips and can safely say this was the best gammon steak i have had! my husband had scampi and was equally pleased with his meal. We visited on a weekday lunchtime so the pub was quiet, staff were friendly and would definately re-visit.

I'll keep it simple .... Good food , nice pub , BUT sadly lacking in the number of staff behind the bar either serving drinks or taking food orders .
The food is good without a doubt, plenty of room between tables but sadly lacks the correct number of waiting staff & 1's that can be bothered 2do basics such as rub specials off the specials board when they've run out etc .
Potentially a great place with the correct team in place which it doesn't seam 2 have just now .

Visited today with 7 members of my family and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. All the main meals were lovely and hot and we did not have to wait too long at all. The deserts were all homemade and tasted lovely! Will definitely be going back xx

Would have been 5 star if the service had been better. Quick to be given a table but then had to collect our own menus, once food ordered the mains arrived quickly and were well cooked and hot. Service of desserts was a different story, ordered waited 15 minutes then asked what had happened was told they were being plated but then waited a further 10 minutes for them to arrive and there was no apology or reason why they were late. In fact otheres were served who had irdered after us. Had to ask for clean spoons as they were dirty, not just lacking a polish thry had left over food on them. Desserts were tasty served on hot plates but were only warm. Not sure if we will go back, which is a shame as food was good. Maybe service would have been better if staff didnt stand at the bar talking to each other.
