Clean room, comfortable bed, excellent central location. Shower adequate but tap in sink ran very slowly. Good no frills, inexpensive option with plenty of nearby bars and restaurants for eating.
Main staircase reflects former glory of the building but incorrectly spelled warning sign of uneven stair treds was irritating to a grammar pedant!

Family rooms are big with a double and 2 small single beds, location is key here, right in the middle of shops and restaurants. The receptionist with short black hair was really friendly and always smiling, that's great service even for a travelodge!
It's a basic room so take your own Toiletries. I found that the bathroom was very cold. I would stay here again as the location was fab.

When I arrived I got a lovely welcome the receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful both on checking in and out. I loved the size of the rooms and that it has stayed a hotel in an old beautiful building, stained glass windows were lovely and a nice surprise for a travelodge I had expected v modern boxy rooms. Leaving extra teabags at reception is a nice touch as well. Location is brilliant - it would be good if they included the nearest car park details as well

Stayed Friday 30th March for one night with family and friends. Welcomed by Eva??? (Receptionist) and Gary (Regional Director) who started our weekend off with a wonderful greeting. Nothing was too much for the limits staff.
Rooms were exceptionally warm, so nothing to moan about as it was freezing outside.
Beds were very clean and huge, just like the bathroom and bedroom.
Hotel was a little dated but exceptionally clean and there was plenty of teabags, coffee, milk, sugars available at reception should they be required.
Parking was easy to find - thank you Gary.
Overall I would recommend this Hotel - we got a very good 'deal', so start looking!

Came here on 1/2 price deal (would not pay the normal price), hotel staff were super helpful and friendly and hotel accessible in close proximity to the town and restaurants. The downside is that Travelodge are using a very old hotel building and have converted it meaning large rooms; however on the downside they have not kept up with renovations with uneven floor boards and original stair bannister now incomplete (a bit of general tlc would make a huge difference), the rooms themselves are well equipped but bathrooms need updating and bathroom and general cleanliness not 100% (there was previous occupants chocolate wrapper under the bed), I would come here and recommend but only if I could get it for around £40.
