“Perfect for a bit peace and quite”
Reviewed 22 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Stayed for the weekend and it was just what the doctor ordered. Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with nothing but the wildlife to keep you company.
The nearest pub is a bit of a walk and there is no footpath so I would recommend driving to it. To be honest you don't need the pub just have a trip in to Garstang during the day and buy your food and drink and enjoy it back at the cottage.
There is a nice little walk only five minutes drive away at Beacon Fell. It takes a novice walker about one hour to walk right round and then up to the summit.
Hot tub in the evening as the sunsets over the horizon was a bonus.
I would recommend this cottage if you want to get away from it all and just spend time with that special person in your life.
We would definitely return very soon.

“A lovely anniversary weekend”
Reviewed 1 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We found the cottage to be well-equipped, comfortable and spacious, situated in a peaceful location. The hot tub and scenery were a bonus and enjoyable even in wet weather. The Cottage is about 30 mins walk from the nearest pub which serves a good range of food and there were plenty of footpaths and walks closeby to enjoy. It is also only a short drive from various walks in Beacon Fell Country Park and only 10/15 minutes drive from the motorway.

“Excellent, private and brillant place”
Reviewed 10 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Stayed at Woodpecker cottage for the weekend and this place is really nice. Has its own drive and private small lake. Really quiet place, would recommend it too anyone, small village is only 1 mile away with a nice pub. The owners were very responsive when we had a query about the hot tub. Only thing to say is that we both struggled with phone signal but that was a good thing.

“Perfect for a relaxing weekend”
Reviewed 19 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

My husband and I treated our friends to a weekend at Woodpecker cottage as a wedding present. The cottage had all the facilities we needed to cook a big meal after a day spent walking around Beacon Fell Country Park. The hot tub was amazing and helped soothe those aching muscles! We all slept like babies both nights and came back feeling refreshed - just what we needed.
Sally made the booking process really easy, and there were lots of extra touches such as eggs from the resident hens. Would not hesitate to recommend.

“Great Break!”
Reviewed 30 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a relaxing stay at the cottage. Very well equipped and the place is warm and cosy on the chilly evenings. The setting is good with lovely views over the pond and fields, and the location is great with privacy from nearby houses. Large patio area with table and chairs, must make it a lovely place in the sunny days, although the weather was wetter when we stayed we still managed to get out walking and enjoyed the views. The hot tub was lovely and warm and great to relax in after a long walk.
