Visited today... waited to be seated, no one arrived. Found a waiter and asked if we should just sit anywhere, “yes,” was his response... asked for a menu... was told to go and get one from the bar(now there’s service for you)!
Went to bar.... no draught beers at all... asked for a menu... it was a bar menu rather than usual beefeater menu. Was told that you have to sit in restaurant to have the other menu... so I asked where they classed the restaurant as being... was told upstairs (in quite a rude tone). Walked upstairs... had to find a waitress and ask to be seated.. food was cold, skinny fries were rock hard and Husband’s triple cooked chips must have been cooked at least six times!! Shame...

Visited for a birthday celebration. We liked the look of the new menu and ordered 4 different items. The most expensive being the fillet steak stack which when arrived was very small with no fries or any sides just a stack and at £21.99 for a pub meal very disappointing. Another order was the 10oz Angus steak which contained an enormous and hilarious massive section of a cabbage taking over at least half the plate, no onions (presume they had run out) and so substituted with around 7 different tomatoes! We also order a 10oz lamb steak which was so small it was laughable and when queried were advised they shrink in the cooking. This was replaced by a rump steak which had not shrunk (?) but was very bloody and undercooked. Lastly the ‘pie’ ordered was meat wrapped in filo pastry with a twisted top and plonked on the plate not contained in a pie dish as expected.

All of this took an hour to arrive and was not worth the wait.

Bar area had uncleared plates and glasses from those eating bar food and food on the floor from children. Had to clear table before sitting down and ask a barman to clean the table which was done straight away once asked.

Will not be returning or recommending.

We went for breakfast for Mother's day. Food was quite plentiful, although by 11.45 am they had run out of pancakes. It was a very busy morning, although staff were quite attentive and the food was served quite quickly. For breakfast this was a very average meal but plenty of variety. I have heard that lunch and dinners are not very good.

With free parking, No dogs allowed in pub,

Great staff, food was ok, new potatoes were not nice , but they did provide chips as a replacement,

It costs me £70 for 3 people for lunch a little expensive.

But the setting is great , do not forget to have a walk over the sluice gates , worth a look

Went for mother's day meal with family. Took a while to be seated even though it was booked. It was very busy and there was a wait for the food which wasn't great when it arrived. Shame as it's in a beautiful location and the staff were doing the best they could.
