Horrible!!! Never ever come back!!!Food was really disgusting and priceless and if you want to order cocktails don’t do it because you can just only get a soda water without a prosecco in spritz cocktail and they will argue with you that they are right and the manager of the bar thinking that the clients are stupid!!!

We recently celebrated a birthday with 18 family and friends of varying ages. The atmosphere was great, the food was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. We could not fault it.

Me and my friend made the spontaneous decision to go out for food at 7:30 pm. I called the Swan to be told if my booking was for less than 8 people I should do so on line. The next available table was at 8:30 pm. I took it allowing us to take a leisurely walk and build up an apitite and possibly get a drink at the bar before the table was ready.

Instead when we got in we were told that food service was closed. The English waiter went to speak with the manager and returned to confirm that on line booking should not have been taken. When we requested to speak with the said manager he was unavailable being told that he is way too busy sorting out the remaining tables to deal with a confused customer.

Thank you the Swan in Milton Keynes village for the best night of dining in my life. You sent us to the cross keys a further 20 mins walk where me and my friend had an amazing poached pear followed by lobster tail followed by the cross keys mess and crumble. We both had drinks and coffee and easily spent upwards of £80.

The floor was run by two Albanian guys who were more than happy to serve us. Warm welcome. Lovely banter. Great food great company and lots of patrons arrived for food after us. I asked my friend what was going on as I did not understand why people were arriving after 9pm for food and he told me to listen to their accents. They were all foreigners from Europe. Apparently they eat later out there. Wow. What a great way to run a business. Being available and friendly to customers when they need you. Truely mind blowing.

To sum up. Won’t be darkening your door again. The swan in Milton Keynes village. Will trek to cross keys in future. Clearly we need the foreigners as the locals are lazy.

But bad if you are a couple or two couples wanting to chat. Everyone has to shout to be heard over the music. Poor food, don't have the risotto which is actually a savory rice pudding. Very 'can't be bothered' service. It seems that they get so much business here they can't be bothered being pleasant to customers. Oh by the way Ladies, be prepared to have your heels ruined in the gravel car park.
