I often take a walk along the canal in Swindon. A great venue at the bottom of Kingshll - old town. The original is being extended and the locals now enjoy Waitrose at the end. The area is coming along nicely and the Hereon is often on watch on the bank. Plus he also stands very still until ready to fish. Today was beautiful, excellent weather and lots of unexpected sunshine. Today I Followed a walking group who were enjoying their chat and companionship. Ducks, moorhens, owners with their dogs, children are always in numbers. Beware of the cyclists and joggers. They need to whistle or ring their bells more. Otherwise a great place to walk.

Wow! What an amazing achievement by the volunteers of the trust. This is a wonderful place to walk and so lovely to see the canal clean, accessible and used by so many. Great place to get close to nature and away from the hustle and bustle. We'll be back to take a trip on Dragonfly next year ;)

This visit was the first time in 54 years! And what a great place the volunteers have made of this canal. As we walked along the tow path we saw a Heron,Fox,and lots of different birds.
If you walk from the Kings Hill (we parked in a free car park in Turner Road by the recreation park) (off Westcott Place) to the the bridge over the canal by Waitrose you can get a nice coffee sat outside looking over the canal.

Had a two hour trip to celebrate a friend's birthday. The crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely seeing moorhen and chicks and also a heron. My one niggle is the outside seating could do with a cushion or two ! Over all, most enjoyable.

It may only be a short 30 min jounrey there and 30 mins back, but for the kids they loved it. They were realy looked after and loved steering the boat themselves
Really recommended
