We were recommended by friends. 8 of us visited for a meal in October 18. I booked well in advance because I was advised to. We sat in a cosy room on a long table. We didn't have to wait long to be served and the waiteress was very good and quickly cleared our pots away after each course. For starters we had Tomato Bruschetta, (it is served on garlic bread) 2 had the mushroom soup and one had crabcake. All very nice and tasty. The soup had a warm baguette served with it and looked to be quite filling. For mains one.. had sirloin steak with mushrooms and peppercorn sauce, one.... had fillet steak, one... salmon, one.. stilton & steak pie, one.... had chicken and one...had steak & ale pie. The meals were served with lovely freshly cooked carrots, cauliflower and broccoli. New potatoes and chips were served in dishes. For sweets we had sherry trifle (full of sherry and very nice) Chocolate brownies and ice cream. Not one complaint was heard about the meal, in fact we were all completely satisfied and remarks came of how the cooking was superb and so tasty. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed every part of my meal. It may be a little more than the average for the meals, but well worth every penny. We shall definately return here again soon.

Nice food but the pub interior is very shabby and uninviting. Could be a lovely pub if outdated plastic cladding and melamine was suitably replaced to reflect traditional, old country pub. People do not just go out to eat even if the food is good as they also equally prefer to enjoy their environment too.

Treated my brother and his wife to lunch. My first time at The Harrington Arms - it certainly won't be the last! Very quaint pub with several rooms to eat / drink in. Plenty to choose from on the menu for starters, main course and desserts. The pies are exceptionally good; full of very tender meat and tasty gravy. The accompanying vegetables were well cooked and delicious. Portion sizes are on the generous side. If you're going for 3 courses make sure you only have a light breakfast. Service was slightly slow, however, they were very busy and we weren't in any rush so it didn't matter. Will be going back soon and I highly recommend this pub / restaurant. I believe the owners have a shop where you can buy many of the items on the menu, for example, their pies.

Had to be in Derby one Sunday recently and as we don't know Derby at all we obviously searched in TripAdvisor for somewhere to eat Sunday lunch. So pleased that we choose this place! Phoned at 10.30 in the morning and got the last table spare at 3.45! Busy or what!

Everything was great! Warm welcome from our young server, Ted. Food came quickly despite the masses of customers around us in what seemed like a packed restaurant. Disappointed to find out that the chicken had run out but the rest of the menu was available and as it turned out, excellent. So much of it and very tasty with it. Varied veg, lovely Yorkshire and great meat and fish. Well pleased. Also started off with a prawn cocktail - good and a chocolate pudding with custard to finish, also good. Everything was plentiful and hot, brought to our table speedily by said server, Ted, a very pleasant and friendly young man. He is to be praised for still being on top of his game despite coming to the end of a long and obviously tiring service that Sunday.

Just £14.95 for two courses each. Very good value and somewhere we'll no doubt return to some day, maybe midweek so we can sample the rest of their fare!
